gimz63251073 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Most likely ur cabinet is laminated? In that case, u have to apply a primer first, also available in art fren. After letting it cure, then paint with chalkboard paint. Not a difficult process, just thats its irreversible. rubypumps 13 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 hi anyone used chalk board paint to paint your bomb shelter door?what sort of primer do I have to buy? any specific brand to recommend?
iamevil 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2014 i was looking around for chalkboards too... then i found the paints in those DIY shops. Small corner where you can find wood varnish cans and stuff. It's a very small tin of chalk board paints. DIY shops like those in the shopping malls. Might be pricey but it's convenient to grab and go, especially if you are looking at just painting a portion. Primer wise - best to ask the shop people. they sell it, they should be able to recommend. Ask questions on the various type of primer and the benefits - then go shop in those paint stores for cheaper alternatives...becuase those uncles in the paint shop are kinda lazy to explain. lol~
xaleysan 2 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Can also buy chalkpaper.Chalkboard paint might be irreversible. But if you buy a cheap piece of wood or plastic, you can paste the chalkboard paper and mount over (with strong tape/hook) wherever you want.Next time when you are sick of looking at it, just throw away the whole thing.
