My Humble 4Rm Hdb @ Strathmore

Recommended Posts

Hee, finally 'unlurked' cos I read that we are gonna have the same TV. :sport-smiley-004:

It's nice right? I like how slim the edges are.

Love the thin bezel. Was considering the D8000, but realize that the only difference is the refresh rate. Not worth to pay the extra $. Love the base that comes with the tv, but I might be doing a wall mount instead. Just confirmed that my tv comes with the standard wall mount, not the Samsung slim wall mount they have on the selling floor.

Wow, so soon.... Hopefully the workers don't compromise on quality. For me, I prefer to give my ID firm more time. My moving is in Oct even though Reno handover is expected to be end sept.

Quality of work so far so good, the tiling man took one week to overlay my common toilet tiles, saw him slowly cleaning, inspecting every single tile before he lay them on. Slowly cutting the tiles to fit around the pipes. Actually lucky or unlucky me(if u r the superstitious type), due to 7th month, I have more manpower from contractors,

Ya, thinking what to do with the legs. Think would be nice to customise a mirror stand using the legs cos I really like the legs.

Everyone wants to wall mount the TV except me, so I am outvoted lor. :bleah:

I am still contemplating to wall mount or not, but my ID got my tv feature designed without a table top, he mentioned that he will be creating storage behind the tv, so to access to stuff stored behind tv, juz slide part of the feature wall together with the tv up. As mentioned in my earlier post, I did not opt for any 3d drawings, juz to cut cost. The idea my ID has now is quite different from our initial plans. After site visit, we decided to have all equipment, eg set top boxes, modems, av receiver stacked at a side of the feature wall. Seems like I would have to wall mount.....

I am leaving everything for him to decide and design. Like dat then have element of surprise......hopefully on the bright side hahaha

Master Toilet tiling almost done......

We shifted the entrance of the Master Toilet 6 inches to the left. Nothing to do with FengShui.

We juz want to accomodated the vanity top in the bathroom so got to extend the wall a bit.

Common toilet... only comes with a sewage drainage, no drainage at the shower area. That means the whole toilet floor will be wet if somebody takes a shower. My ID put additional drainage to link to the original one, built a kerb, to keep the area outside the shower area dry. More practical this way. As my toilet tiles are overlaid, the additional drainage is a tat difficult to solve. Too bad I reach my place with my camera too late. The tiler had covered the drainage thingy they installed. Photo can only see the normal cover with tiles overlaid the drainage thingy.

Platform built on Living room. Sofa will be inbetween this platform and TV. Plan to have my massage chair on the platform, so can still watch TV during massage. Purpose of platform.....to elevate massage chair to watch TV :sport-smiley-004:

nice progress!! looking forward to see the completed house!! no 3d?? how much can they reduce for you???

Actually this week progress is slower than last. Halfway through tiling, ken a tile shortage, slow down progress waiting for tiles delivery, end up my ID became the tiles delivery man haha poor guy. He calculated he had excess tiles but tiler rejected many pieces, cannot pass his QC. End rejected qty > excess qty..... :thumbs up:

My ID mention that his cost for 3d drawings will be 1k+, for my case is the whole house, if they were to impose this cost into the Reno, I am sure they mark up to over 2k
