wagondavid 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2011 I had the same concern so I opted for full recycled plastic lumber decking instead. It's made of recycled plastic and looks similar to wood (diff colours to choose). Won't absorb any moisture at all, no staining, no moulding. And Eco-Friendly!I just ordered decking for my 2 balconies from Wagon Equipment Pte Ltd. I found the price is about the same or cheaper than composite decking and maybe slightly more ex than the very cheap wooden ones. I'm going to install it this Friday! I managed to get a very good price from this co, other companies quoted me $300 - $700 bucks more for composite! Can try asking for an on-site visit/quote, no obligation: David or Jim at 91279454.hi Bunnymummy, thank you for your recommendation.we are highly appreciated.BTY,who's that?haha..i am David of Wagon Equipment.many thanks to you again.... Synchron 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2011 You want real wood feel? go for chengai but it will bleed. Looks good but feels not that great then go for Composite decking. colour fading will not be as fast as chengai but still will shade under the nature's sunlight! MaxGoh 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Hey guys just wanna share my experience with a Timber Decking Specialist. I visited their office sometime in July.I was recommended from a friend to engage Calvary Carpentry. At first i had my doubts as to whether they were able to live up to my expectations as our project was complicated. We had a 5m Pipe running across our top floor and it had to be easily access for plumbing works. Also we wanted grass for our daughters to have a play space and at the same time not to compromise the outlook of the patio. We were recommend abodo pine from new zealand and we really loved the color and 30 years of warranty. They initially suggested Ironwood which was around $23psf however we did not like the color and hardness (for safety reasons). All in all they were very professional and had a site manager present throughout the entire project. Just wanted to express our gratitude to their team and hope you guys find they useful! you can contact them at http://www.calvarycarpentry.com or http://www.facebook.com/calvarycarpentry
Qqueen 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 Hi,wooden decking certainly requires lots of maintenance. However, treated wood is easier to maintain. You can look for a suitable sealant at your local store and use it to give your decking a more long lasting look. Most importantly, avoid painting the wood decking. battleangel 2 Report post Posted November 25, 2013 Indeed, timber wood does require maintenance, but wood is more luxurious in outlook.Plastic will always remain that, plastic. It can also be very hot on your feet if it's exposed to sun, resulting in burns to your soles, where it's common knowledge to netizens.Google is a fantastic way to search for the right timber products. The power of technology.
