Om Sofa

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been looking around for a sofa and have read some forum postings. Seems that there are a lot of complaints.

Would appreciate if someone can share their experience on sofas bought from OM.

Seems to be all made in China but looks pretty good.

Thank you in advance.

I bought my fabric L shape sofa from a shop called SY Living at Furniture Mall Beach Road. It was fully customisable with lots of fabrics to choose from. I'm very happy with the quality and price I got (must bargain!). Delivery was right on time as promised (about 3 weeks) and no problems at all.

I did not buy the fabric sofas from OM because I did not like the "hardness" of the cushioning on the sofa (too hard, not nice to sit in my opinion). Also, they told me can only receive it in 6 weeks or more.. I don't have the time to wait for it.

It's important to shop around before picking a sofa, I found that I was quoted so many different range of prices for the similar designs.

Hi Bunny,

Why don't you start a thread for SY Living?

Hi all,

Where did you read bad reviews about OM? I think they are ok....

I only remember there is this one off incident where OM accused a customer of not paying his balance when in fact he had already done. And they delivered defective furniture. Of course, customer not happy. In the end, it ended up as court case and the customer won. I find it weird OM will accuse like that when in fact there should be black and white on payment made. I take that complaint with a pinch of salt as there is no verification.

On fabric... I was going back and forth on fabric or leather. In the end, I think leather is the choice for me. Fabric can look pretty if you are after patterns or certain specific designs. But I think the cleaning will be very inconvenient. And if drop a bit of food or drink, it might be a problem.

The removing and putting back of fabric is time consuming and troublesome. Moreover, you got to really take care of the washing. Leather easier maintenance and look somewhat more classy if that is what you are after.
