This fan no doubt looks pleasing to the eye.

However the initial costs outweigh the energy savings.

Assuming both kdk and Haiku are switched on 6hrs a day, 365 days a year,

comparatively the savings of "50Watts per day" And that Singapore Electricity charge is $0.2388/kw

So you saved 7cents a day and about $26 a year.

How many years would the fan need to run to make its value worth?

It is much too expensive for a fan at the current prices, unless u really like the design.

There are other DC ceiling fans which are more affordable, providing similar energy savings. The Crestar Starlite DC fan is one such example, priced less than $500 including installation. In addition, it comes with an integrated light. There are also DC fans from Amasco too.

saw that malaysia selling haiku as well...is it cheaper to purchase there?

besides amasco and crestar...any sleek design fans? i actually google and saw modern fan company and emerson have sleek designs but dont seem to see anyone in singapore selling it...

any advise anyone?

Own 2 haiku fans, they are the worst investment I ever had.

Lots of noise, was told that it was a design flaw. Worse, the local reps keep charging me for the servicing yet the noise problems are not solved.

Don’t get it, you will regret!

Can consider the Vento fans. I have the Vento Uragano and Vento Libellula. The first is good, the second not so good.

The fan are sold at the same price all over the world so not possible to get it cheaper.
