altis72 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Just wondering do you specifically request that the wall tiles in your kitchen or toilet to be tiled horizontally or vertically (ie assuming the tiles are in plain color)? Was informed by the ID that the 'standard' practice is vertical for toilet wall tiles. Is this true or is the tiler just being lazy and find it too tedious to tile horizontally. indira 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I never specifically asked the ID or contractor to put them hori or verti, they automatically install them vertically. Think of that, it will look a bit weird to install tile horizontally. But maybe in certain area of wall, it will make the room look a bit bigger, especially if the material is light in color,
angelbutterfly 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I think depends on the side too? I though 30x60 is to tile horizontally to make the room wider? I gg to specific that to my contractor...

I gg to specific that to my contractor...I had white wall tiles for my kitchen (30x60) and 2 toilets (30x45). The wall tiles for my kitchen was tiled horizontally while the toilet wall tiles was done vertically. I thought it was weird and inconsistent but it was too late to stop the tiler.
