EOS 450D 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 QUOTE (catfish @ Posted 17 August 2010 - 06:22 PM)Dimmer switch is designed for incandescent/halogen light bulb use , if your existing light is energy saving type, then I would suggest forget about it, as it's not compatible. In the market there is a type of energy saving E27 light bulb that is compatible with dimmer switch (Philips has some ), but the price is not cheap, in the range of S25-$30 (as compare to $7-$9).Installation is straight forward, as long as you have a compatible light bulb..cheer
EOS 450D 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) The diameter is the same. E26 and E27 are interchangeable. The length of the socket is slightly different.Light bulbs with E26/E27 Base, E26 and E27 are standard medium Edison socket (Click Here For Wikipedia), They has same diameter screw in 26.38mm, Just the length of socket are different, The length of E26 is 26mm, The length of E27 is 27.5mm, They are the normal ubiquitous bulb socket in the world. The E27 Base can replace E26 Base. Edited June 14, 2011 by EOS 450D
