What kind of ambient lighting do people normally use for placement behind the TV?

Am I right to say T5 is different from the normal fluorescent light? How much do T5 cost for a 4 ft long?

I stuck a 14W T5 behind my lcd tv using industrial strength double sided tape. Cant remember the cost - but it was cheap. In the region of $10+ or $20+ for the set. So far so good!
