Urgent Help.. Install/Replace On/Off Switch

Recommended Posts

hi all.. my current switch panel is faulty and i have brought a new one to replace..

the old one comes earth, ground and neutral terminal and its fairly easy to connect but looking at the L,(live) E(earth) and N(neutral) letters but the new one i brought have only 2 terminal for me to connect

which is label L and 1 respectively.

i believe my brown/blue cable(Live) should be connected to the L terminal but what about my neutral and earth? connected together to the 1 terminal?

pls advice thanks

Yes I'm replacing the light on/off switch so meaning for the new 2 terminal switch I brought. Which colour wire goes to L and the other 2 colour wire goes to 1?

Bro in my case my old switch when I open up

Got green/yellow, red n black if I use test pen to test which wire light up, that wire will go to L right? Then the other 2 wire join them up n connect to 1?

It's a single gang switch controlling the light.

By the way I have another light switch, when I open up got 3 red wires. When I on the switch both terminal light up on the test pen but when I off the circuit breaker only the terminal with 2 wire light up on the test pen, this mean that 2 wire will go to the L terminal of my new switch?

Ok bro thanks meaning for all light switch the live wire and another wire will go to L and another wire will go to 1. So how to differentiate that wire that goes to L together with live and the other one that goes to the 1?
