Recently we have closed the third group buy for this lamp.

Also since the group buy page will be expired by 31/5/11 and we are not collecting anymore orders.

this page will function like info page and this thread is not a group buy page.

Introduction of ACRO Lamp in SG:

I had been search this Arco Lamp in SG for the longest time, since 2009

From Furniture shops to lighting shops in Geylang, to Balestier & Jln Besar, it seems that there isn't 1 of decent quality.

SG mkt Price range cheapest $199, rest range ard $350-$600 but most cannot make it.

Either they are steel rod with steel shades which can rust. [some showroom pcs are already rusty!!]

while marble are man-made which r really cheaper, lighter & ez to crack

Best 1 had seen with the most accurate reproduction is in LORGAN'S

Superb quality & finishing & exact proportions going @ $950.

There are those look alike with Round rods and Flat round marble base which aren't really good.

Round rods are using twist tightening like those shower curtain bars.

which leaves scratch marks on the steel rod.

Once the scratches appear rust will follow on the same spot.

this is because the protective lacquer that protects the steel from rusting is being scrap off.

Round flat marble base also have problems.

As the rod is tall & have a heavy cantilever force,

the rods are attached onto the marble in mere 4cm contact.

this will end up making the lamps wobbly.

Unlike the rectangle, the rod is embedded thru-out the marble in 50cm contact & support,

this makes the rod alot stronger and hard to topple.

Lets hope this lamp looks good in your home & blends well with your deco.

However forwarder will only advise date of delivery once it clears custom clearance & all legal stuff.

1. Bring a trolley so that you can push the thing ard. cos its really heavy!! [70KG]

2. U need 2 strong person that cn share the load of 35KG each.

just a reminder for those in this group buy.

i had some questions abt the prices from some buyers.

As im a buyer like you & not making this a business, i can't really absorb biz risk,

i hope you guys can understand why i'm not going to price the goods on a mark up.

I'm not a trader & not drawing any profits but i can't incur too much loses as well.

Cost/Rates will be made very transparent once i get them.

But i'm unable to confirm the final rates at the moment. [if i have to it will be $350]

as there are 4 elements which i could only finalized upon confirmation with exact quantity.

however i can only explain individual costings.

Lamp only Paid 30/5/11 $268/unit with bank charges

- RMB1350 [previously RMB 1280, price increment due to material shortage] ~ SGD250-265 depending on FOREX each

- with FOC the bulb or dimmer.

+ RMB800 for additional wooden crates protection. [previously we have some damages on the marble]

Shipping Paid $58.40/unit

- $200~$250 per cubic depending on weight, then divided by total buyers/units.

- In land transport will also be charge around RMB800.

- 4 units will take up 1 cubic, there is 16 units @ d moment so cost is estimated $900 for 4 cubic

- estimate SGD60+ per unit

- price will only be available once Goods are pack on pallets with total Cubic & gross weight

Rental of space new cost +$10 if you are collecting on First Saturday, +$20 on Second Saturday

- Renting space from Jonas, i will pay them $10 per pallet per day,

so i estimate $10 if you collect on the 1st sat, or $20 if you collect on the second.

Installation & delivery cost - Not available.

- so far we do not have any cheap installer willing to charge less.

- all of them asking for $150, which i thk its ridiculous.

Please organize your transport for collection.

May I just confirm, we will make final payment of SGD286.40 deduction from SGD50 deposit if we are collecting on the 16/7?
