Stepping Back In Time

Recommended Posts

Yeah highly likely I'll source stuff from BKK when I go in October - but not so sure how shipping, logistics works and costs. Are you familiar?

I'm planning a trip to BKK in first week August. :) Hubby is familiar with BKK and has friends there. Let me source out some details and we can exchange pointers.

If you find any decent MMC shops in BKK, do share!

Hey! Thanks for recommending Forar!

We visited Les and spent an hour talking about furniture. Finally found our entryway table. Fantastic place with a chilled out atmosphere.

Love it!

We went to ReStore this afternoon! Such a quaint little store!

Although we didn't get anything, we had the waffles and they were delicious!

Thanks for recommending a new hangout place for me!

Was wondering what happend to your blog... Looks like it's coming together.

The painting of walls really transform the place. Interesting AK-47 treatment for the walls, haven't seen it before. Can't wait to see the finished results. Haha

I really really love the door and light switches too....

Love how spacious your kitchen and kitchen entrance looks after you got ride of the walls. Plus the nipple switches! Gosh, where did you find them? Really really quaint and cute! :good:

Hi! We've been a little too busy with work( better be busy making $ to pay off this reno.. lol) and we've both fallen ill... And yeah, met Les over the weekend to get a dining table from him and her told me about u guys being childhood friends :)

*nods... painting really makes a diff. as for the textured wall... it actually should be more raw and would have been more ideal if there where red / small bricks laid in it, however it was a solid concrete wall does we had to think of making use of it's natural textures.

hihi, we're still a little overwhelmed by the size of the kitchen, however, lets see how it looks after the cabinets are in (not much of it though as we did not want to crowd the kitchen). We hope the airy feel will still be maintained after a full length wooden panel is in place. A 1.5m suar wood bar top has also yet to be placed in....

the nipple switches were sourced by our ID from a shop in jalan basar, he was actually looking for something else and stubbled upon those switched (brand new!) and got us their left over stock :) Nice to know u like them ! How's yr reno?

Coming along really nicely!! LURVE your mood boards, and I think, several of us, like you and Timothy, and the Scandi-lovers all know each other by some less-than-6 degrees separation :P You mentioned McCann's Microsoft account in Beijing, so you definitely know my older brother (he's a suit), and Tim is with HP (so was my brother), and I handled their PR.

I love the nipple switches! Can't wait to see what else you have in store - Scandi is really catching up with the Singaporean Gen X couples I think (finally), it's a beautiful style, and probably something I would explore with our next place too.

Looking forward to your updates!

Not planning to install Bakelite switches for the rest of the house? There are even LAN outlets so you can maintain the same style...

Hmm... I think it's nice to have a big kitchen with space for people to eat and chit chat - that's another 'retro' feature? :) My kitchen is tiny and I'm spending a small fortune just to enlarge the space.

Am only getting my keys tmr so not much progress. Tmr's a "big" day, cos going to meet both contractors at my place to discuss aircon layout n my IDs for more design fine-tuning and shopping. Still gotta go thru various details with my IDs like shower shelves, wardrobe interiors, lightings n finalise the flooring selection.

Hi Ely, Thanks for dropping by! yeah.. the advertising world is really small....

Unfortunately, I don't think I know your brother... the suits on the microsoft team then were mainly female and I was in the digital arm, he could be in the above the line. I do suspect we might have been on the team at a diff time. :)

ps.. lurve the details in yr home! and hey, am a cat-mama too! yr fur kid's got such a cute face eh!!! I gotta post a pixs of my little furkid for ya to see... I've a seal-point ragdoll aka king of the house!

Hi everyone,

It's been a tiring 2 weeks due to work, being sick and most of all PACKING for the move that happened 3 days ago!!!!!! FINALLY!

Our home is only 75% complete with touch ups to be done, mre shelves & lights to be installed. I"ll proberly be able to capture more proper pixs at the end of this weekend when it looks less like a storage hub.

for now, I'll leave you all with a mini preview of the crazy raw wall we did. We had actually planned to have a brick wall... but decided to risk something a little erm.... more raw...
