Aaron22 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2011 Hi,I am thinking of getting one from the states, but not sure of their compatibility for use here.If you have ever bought a home phone (AT & T, Uniden, Motorola, etc) from the US, can anyone advise me whether is it suitable for use here in Singapore, ie compatibility for power supply, phone socket, etc? Thanks and regardsAaron
raygks 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2011 Hello Aaron,I've recently bought 2units of panasonic DECT6.0 cordless phones from US(Walmart & Amazon) & using it without any issue, it's alot cheaper compare to Singapore and many models available compare to locally. You have to take the risk of warranty though because they only provide local warranty since the product are only intended for use in US.However do take note that their adapters are mostly 110Vac US NEMA 2pin type(not grounded), so you have to purchase additional adapters suitable for our 240Vac if the model/brand you're interested in comes with 110Vac.You can get panasonic adapters from Ebay(same US 2pin type),not sure about the rest of the brands though. You have to search for more info on the phones you're interested.Good luck.Regards,Ray. Aaron22 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 Thanks Ray,its true that its cheaper and more choice of selection to choose from the US than in Singapore mkt.My collic did bought a set in the US 3 yrs ago and got the adapter from Sim Lim. But he too bought Panasonic brand. I am not sure about AT&T and other US brands compatibility for use here. Not sure whether there is any other forummers who use AT&T or Uniden brand.
