Executive Living - Sofa

Recommended Posts

Yeah, and also his business ethics and all the other companies he worked for. What a fellow. :notti:

Hi Jeanius

Once again ,Thank you for your compliment for Alvin Ong. Yes I would like to add on, he has got good business ethics and that is the reason why EL is being fronted by him and not me. I am so much more inferior to him. He is a much sought after fellow in this trade by a lot of companies. You have to take your hat off on him in this aspect.

Sometimes your post really make sense. Do you know him personally?

Recently I visited the Singapore Expo Asia pacific Furniture Fair which was held on the 14th May 2011.My wife and I was searching for a new sofa and other item for our new condo.

On the very day, I bring along my uncle, aunty to seek some advices from them.

The moment I walk into the floor of the exhibition hall, my wife saw this booth which display very nice leather sofa named Executive Living. I recalled that I have visited their showroom which is located at Tai Seng Harper Road 1 months ago. From my own info gathered, I discovered that this company is pretty new in this furniture trade. They do display very attractive leather sofa set in their showroom when I visited them.

We decided to step into their booth and try their sofa since my wife show interest in their design. A sales guy immediately attended to us and I recognize that it is the same guy who served me at Harper Road showroom. He had introduced himself as a boss of Executive Living during my last visit to their showroom.

Out of sudden, my uncle and his wife whisper into my ear and inform us to leave the booth when this so called boss appeared.

I was quite astonished. I asked my uncle why and what had happen?

Both my uncle and aunty reply me that this guy looks very familiar. The fact is both my uncle and aunty had been shopping for furniture for their tenant since they leased a few of their property .They informed me that this guy had been company hopping in furniture trade almost all Singapore furniture shop. For example :- Beng Hwa Group at IMM , Mr Décor , Winter Group and many other companies ????My uncle related to me an incident which happens on him about 8-9 years ago. He had purchased a furniture packages at the Singapore Expo and place a full deposit of almost $5K.One month after his purchased, the company wind up. He lost his full deposit of $5K and felt cheated. My uncle told me the furniture company is named Century …something... ??? The important part is that the boss of Executive Living resemblance the same boss who is from Century furniture. In my heart, I hoped that not the same person because my wife and I really like one of their leather sofa. By the way , did anyone come across this problem before and heard of this furniture company named Century something ????

Most people in the furniture industry knows what kind of person your boss is like as you can see that customers also knows that he had worked in many other companies over the years. So don't mention about his integrity, which already shows. As like what samtheman says, he can 'talk the birds down from the trees', he is just a good salesman that is why he needs you in management.

I am in KL, where is your factory located. Post the address here or PM me. Thks.

Hi Jeanius

Thank you for your compliment, this is the first time that you agreed that In EL we have integrity in our dealings with our customers. I am glad that you realised that we never leave our customers in lurch. Maybe you might want to emulate the things and that we do in Executive Living.

I think you have misunderstood our english here. I wouldn't want to emulate your company, maybe you can ask your boss to look at companies that has been around for more then 10 years and learn from them how they get this far. He have many experience in this field as he has worked in so many furniture companies. With the way you are representing your company here, i can assure you that it won't be around for long. The business will not survive but you will.

Hi dave

First thing first, name me one company that you are very very very sure that never for once did they not delay their delivery. Secondly, name me one company that never never never for once have some issues about the products sent. I believe, you are a trader yourself, you should know fully well that some times things are inevitable, Do youmean to say that during all these years of inporting and exporting, never for once you encounter any delays in your shipment? If you are the ONE, please let me know.

EL did not hop around looking for cheap products that compromise on quality standards, in fact we eliminate suppliers who delay their shipments once too frequently, because we know, logistical problems will be a plague that eventually leads to a company's downfall. We are going to be in the market for long and we will. Quality issues will be handled within the shortest time possible. Look at the past threads that EL has, we handled geniune feedbacks urgently and professionally. Compared to other vendors who fail to pick up calls or rather non chalantly brush customers; feedbacks aside, we do not do that in EL. I think this is a fact that you must admit, else we will be getting a lot of negative remarks from our customers. Just go down a few places below our thread, you will see that the mood there is sombre and full of grievances.

In EL's thread, you see the enthusiasm in us. Its this enthusiasm that draws alot of our critics and fans as well.

I can choose to ignore those who post with ignorance of our structure, products our commitments towards our customers. However, I did what I think I should do, its to defend EL's integrity,I cannot allow these parasites to grow and let them flourish and infest EL's thread with untrue comments. They are basless, without substance and ignorant of the truth.

I cannot please everyone, as much as I wanted, I cannot convice each and everyone of you, but I think if we do it right, someday, somehow you will realise what you have written over here shows the amount of naivety you once were.

You don't know my trade at all. I supply a very critical component in the supply chain for many industries. I am not allowed to delay delivery even for one day or else I have to pay compensation. That is why I have to keep ready stocks for my customers and do Just In Time Delivery. Failure to the Deliver is not an Option for me. I can provide all the excuses I want to my customers but I still got to compensate them for the delay which can run into the tens of thousands per order. You do not need to get personal with me here, I am just pointing out the fact that you are just another furniture retailer who is trying to outshine your competitors, good for you if you succeed but no surprises if you run into the same sort of problem plaguing your industry.

Hi Jeanius

I see that you have been harping on this, Century does not belong to Alvin Ong, Show me the ROC that says it does. Century has got nothing to do with Executive Living. Base on your advice I had done an ROC search on Century and in nowhere it says Alvin Ong is the director. I think you have been mistaken.

One can clearly tell that the above mentioned post by lionmetal is from a competitor of the same trade. I need not comment on that post, its just sad that you came far too late to see how I dealt with Lionmetal.

I do not manage the business, I develope it, and I am going to hurt a lot of people who are in the same trade, people like you who cannot compete openly seeks to maligne EL reputation.

Let me systematically reveal what is in your mind.

Firstly, you talk about we uses bovine leather, no doubt its ambiguous, you claimed that we try to cover that up. I replied telling you that we are using cow/cattle leather, there is nothing you can do and you look for other ways to discredit us.

Secondly, after you failed in your first attempt, you tried to comment on our warranty coverage. You know NUTs about what is written inside and you have the cheek to mentioned that we are lying, you had succeeded in convincing some of our critics to join in the fray with you and they started questioning. Good move! I promised I make time for you which I did. I profess in the forum, IN THIS VERY FORUM that Executive Living Covers 5 year surface warranty bound by terms and conditions that is written in our warranty and you started to go hysteria. Once again you failed.

Now after 2 attempts, you talked about Alvin Ong's business Ethics, you claimed that he is the one who ran away with people's money. Because of of your allegations, I did a ROC search and found nothing that says Alvin Ong is the director. I challenge you to do that as well. Fortunately this is a public forum and you are in anonymity, if not we could have haul you up in court.

I am anticipating what other tricks you have in mind. However I would like to thank you for putting us in the lime light. I am having cheap thrill.

You want to know our factories? Let me know which company you belong to and I promise to reveal our factories addresses in this forum for all to see. Your cowardice simply shows that you are a fake, you are not geniune in your dealings with our fellow forummers. All you can do is to google some stuffs about leather for all to see. You underate our fellow forummers as though they do not know how to find out facts about leather. from the internet you learned about leather and you claimed that you are an expert.

Hi Dave

I failed to address something about your understanding in this trade. Can you please advise me if HTL grows their own timber or rather do they fabricate their own wooden structure or they did they contracted out them to 3rd party contractors?

The only problem free material is man made, like PU or PVC, you can have grains and colours that are uniform. In that case why dont you get a PVC sofa set?

Funny that you should raise the issue of timber here. Give you a hint, my company product is closely related to timber. HTL manages their own furniture factories. The point Jeanius and now I have been trying to make here is that they are not going to just simply shut down and run away with their customers money unlike $1 paid up capital companies. Your company is new, you want to stand out from your competitors by providing good customer service, good for you but we are just waiting to see you make good on your promises. Time is on our side, we just have to wait and wait.

No need to get so worked up in the forum. Whatever beef Jeanius had with you is just one competitor pointing out the potential flaws of another competitor marketing efforts. Time is always a great judge of who is right and who is wrong. We just need to sit it out for 5 years and then make a final conclusion.

Hi Jeanius

You want to know the conclusion? alright I share with you, we changed the model and the customer accepted that and paid you. You want proof? I can show you the alteration form and the cheque for full payment. Over here we have nothing to hide. Fancy you digging up the previous post and trying to make an issue out of it.

Good to know EL make good on their promise for this customer. By the way, did your boss apologize for being rude to this customer?

Dave, we can all see that he do not know what we are trying to say here.

1) When you use bovine leather, i ask what animal is it, yes, it could be cow, but then, we will use the word 'cowhide leather' instead of bovine leather.

2) I did not mention about that your boss whom you feel you are more inferior is the director of century, did i. People in the industry knows what's going on, we are here so consumers can judge for themselves whom they want to do business with.

3) Yes. Me, dave and samtheman was wondering does the 5 years warranty covers the leather uphostery, which you said it does and we were asking if the terms & conditions written void this. You are the one who is being so protective about it that cause this ruckus that make us suspicious of your company's operation model. I have never said that you are lying, we said it is quite unbeliveable and kudos to your company for offering that.

4) We are just sharing with members here about what we know about the furniture industry and leathers, is that a problem with you and your company.

Now you want to haul me in court, base on what?? You are acting in a way that put you and your company in a very bad light here. You are so patetic and naive.

To us, you are just another patetic Salesman doing part customer service and promoting your company products with a little knowledge on leathers.

As i say, that shows what ethics you have here. Read up on your own postings and see what i mean. You are the one who is underating the forummers here with your interpretation of leather based on your own assumption rather then googling to find out.

Why do you need to put yourself down and put your boss up on the pedestal just because you were made a partner recently? What if he is really indeed what others have been saying about him, wouldn't that make you look really bad in the eyes of everyone in here given that you said you are so much more inferior to him? Steve Jobs may be so much more richer, smarter and capable than me but he is so very much dead and I am so very much alive. Every person has his value and place in society, kudos to you for wanting to defend your boss but no need for you to lower your own dignity just to repay a favour.

Dear EL,

I have just taken delivery of my L shaped sofa; there is a puncture ( about the size of 5 cent coin ) at the back (the non leather portion ).

The delivery man is aware and he has taken a pic of the damage on his handphone.

Pls look into the matter; my sales order no. is 20582.

Thanks.

Dear EL,

The tilt mechanism at one of the headrests is not functioning.

I was informed that your guys will coming over within a week for the issue above, pls have them look into this as well.

Thanks.

Not trying to be sarcastic here. You are quite fortunate to be able to use the forum to get your problem rectified only because EL is trying to use the forum to promote their extraordinary customer service. May well turn out to be a Win Win situation for both parties. The vast majority of furniture retailers don't even bother to respond to criticism and complaints in here.

Well, with this kind of defects from loose tread to punture holes and faulty mechanism upon delivery, consumers should be happy that there is an EL representative here to make appointments for servicing. Indeed they will need extraordinary customer service (like what Dave says) down the road.:sport-smiley-003: These are just the reported ones who post here, what about those who do not know about this forum.

EL, just send me the address anytime, i am in Puchong, so it is very convenient for me to pop by your factory in Sungei Buloh.

I was referred to this forum by their salesman at the time of purchase.

Win win situation ? I dont know how I can win when I have to take the trouble to bring up this matter and co-ordinating the subsequent follow ups. I'd rather receive one problem free so that I just sit back and enjoy my whisky.

Fortunate ? With timeshare, renovation contractors and furniture forming the bulk of complaints handled by CASE, you may be right by classifying my situation as "fortunate" but the outcome remains to be seen.
