sethho 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Thank you again for your great info and insightful inputs! No worries, I will take them only as a point of reference since you bought your pulley system last year With your permission, I have copied and paste your pm to my blog to share with everyone. All credits goes to marshmallow!FYI, Woei Lee's boss is called Sam. the shop is tucked in the warehouse area of IMM, so you gotta walk through the carpark to get there. They have both the manual and remote-controlled system. Remote-controlled one costs ~500+ to 600 per set, so we opted for manual system due to budget constraint. For manual ones, a brand new set (stainless steel frame, SS rod, length 2m) costs $398 when i asked in July 2010… oh yea all prices I stated are closed to one year ago, so i hope they didn't increase in price… *keeping fingers crossed* You can check out their re-con set - for recon set, SS frame is brand new, only the rods are recon and they are aluminum instead of SS. Recon set was $298. We went for recon set in the end becos it's cheaper .According to the boss, recon set is good because SS rods are heavier, which put more strain in the manual pulley system. Aluminum is lighter and easier to handle, but unfortunately the supplier doesn't make new aluminum ones anymore. So, for new SS set, the boss recommended remote-controlled one due to: (a) no need to handle heavy SS rods (b) more sturdy mechanism © less prone to damage due to mishandling. But if you follow his instruction on how to use the set, i guess the SS set should do just fine Their service is quite good and prompt, and i think the price is quite reasonable (cos i read elsewhere in RT that some pple paid more than $500 for similar stuff). AderKong 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 10mins to clementi mrt, top floor. 20k COV.im jealous! clementi mall has been a great place, especially the new library. The books are all so new, wifey borrowed many Nancy Drew books to re-live her childhood. Yah, if it's not becos of the $20K COV we will have to end up having bread & maggie mee everyday for a year after paying for the reno WOW! Nancy Drew! That's really childhood reminiscence man! That means your wifey and I are of the same era I remembered IRC before there was ICQ. I think that was what you looking for?? Hhmmmm.... I think those that don't IRC are different era from me. Aderkong, you make me feel old now. YES! That's the one I was referring to..IRC! LOL! Don't worry, May, age is never a problem if one ages with grace; we grace together lor. LOL! I also starting to worry abt my laundry arrangement... the ceiling area at the kitchen, seems a little narrow to have indoor air-drying... hmmm... poor layout planning on my part... Yah, the arrangement of the laundry drying area is usually easily forgotten. Lucky Seth remembered on our last visit to the unit with the contractor. And we were debating how it should be, parrerel with and right in front of the kitchen windows, which is a bit narrow & cramp, or perpendicular to the windows in the centre, which might block the ceiling light..headache... Any suggestion from experience???Thanks for highlighting your signature ~ miss that entirely If its convenient, please pm me the price to expect for my budgeting. Thanks again in advance! No worries, I got the website from Google - http://www.streetdirectory.com.ph/woeilee/WOW! Got remote control somemore! Must have cost a bomb! Thanks, Marshy, for PMing Seth the contact & cost.Ader is good with nastiness and bargaining, especially since they are all guys... so I will leave that to her...kekekeYah lah, what to do? When one is playing Mr./Ms Nice, the other will have to be the devil lor, otherwise both will be shortchanged and chopped into pieces Anyway I was never the sweetie cutie pie type, more known as chilli paddi since young...even now, when I see young punks stucking their fat a.s.s. on the reserved seats in MRT when there is obviously an elderly or pregnant lady, I will tap on that young punk (don't care even if he/she is pretending to be sleeping!) and demand him/her to give away the seat to the needy! So since this spitfire is in me, let me be the devil's advocate ba! Hahaha...

Any suggestion from experience???mine is installed perpendicular to the windows, cos the poles can be longer... but mine is at one side of the kitchen not in the centre, so there is no problem for the ceiling lights...like you said lor if parallel to the windows, will be very cramped~ esp when i am using the retractable hanger (manual), i'll have to retreat to the toilet when i wanna pull up/down the hanger~ of course, not an issue if you're paying for the remote control one~ Yah lah, what to do? TBH, drilling holes on my ceiling is another concern I have. I manage to get these pics from Woei Lee's site:The remote control type that comes with lighting - parallel to window...Same type but perpendicular to window...Manual type - ceiling mounted...The one that fits our need if it can be 1.5m instead of 2m - wall mounted manual type. We can mount it on the wall above rubbish chute. This gives us ample space switching from sun drying if only using window near the toilet when it rains Extended type for cannon deployment! sethho 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Monetary wise, it should not be expensive if you get the seed + pot + earth from any Orchids. Its the time and work required to care for the plant and clearing excess water so as not to breed mosquitoes that may be the true 'cost'. AderKong 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Found this furniture/furnishing shop (it was there all the while just that sotong me never realised its existence lah ) at Suntec Tower 3 where some stuff are relatively cheap & nice. Took its latest brochure during lunch and post it here for forumers who might be interested. They participated in GSS and have new stock coming next week and also in July/Aug. AderKong 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Seth & I were considering this red couch from IKEA but were concerned about its quality and comfort. It's made in dyed split leather from cattle. The white and orange ones are selling at S$379 but we like the red one, which is selling at S$699! The above furniture shop at Suntec also has a red sofa in bonded (recylced) leather at S$599.Actually saw nicer ones but all too ex le Can't afford to spend so much now. I rather settle for something decent & within our budget than to stretch ourselves. We can always change them or add on nicer stuffs later
