AderKong 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Hey sethho!Welcome to renotalk! and starting your own t-blog to share with us. ohh... actually I went down to lightings.com.sg ytd, to get my LED track lights and downlights...I was also going the same thought process as you... but in the end, we didn't get the Philips downlights... don't ask me why... i can't remember my argument also...i wonder if the high initial cost will be able to recuperate in the operating savings... and how long would it take...i think we'll stick to the cheaper $26 kind... btw, i'm not having a lot of downlights... prob just 5 in total... Hi csingeu, thanks for visiting our blog Really honoured to have regulars like you, Marshy, May, Ely, Kobelala, sleek, friends78, RB, footprint and hafiizh, commenting on our blog Seth & I have more or less decided to get the Philips downlights unless we found/read evidential info on the disadvantage of it...you know of any??? Your apartment is so retro it make me laugh me a little. I imagine an entire overhaul and a hefty reno bill, but at least you'd be able to do it up exactly the way you want it, not pay some premium COV for a "just-renovated A1 decor" that isn't you. Looking forward to more pics and progress! - ElyYah, I remembered during the 1st viewing I was controlling my urge to laugh when I see the retro interior decor of the unit, hence I ended smiling thru'out the viewing. LOL! But you are right, altho have to spend a great deal (to us lah) on the reno but at least it will something we both wanted and chosen Seth should be going to take some photos (of the "hacked" condition) this afternoon so...stay tuned for the photos! Haha, watch out Seth as we'll come and hijack your t-blog on and off to discuss other matters No problem, Kobelala, feel free to come hi-jack with all sorts of funny & hilarious topics But I think nothing compares to the Sai Discussion Board in your t-blog! LOL! now that i'm at home, i can finally see the photos... this is truly classic, man. that's the version of DIY wall decor 30 yrs ago omg bubblegum crisis... that is so long ago! i have been using marshmallow since the good old ICQ days... i got my ICQ account same day with my bro, so we each picked our favourite snack as our nicknames okie let's not reveal what is our "era" mine is like Unit 00, just prototype... sis mae29's one is like at least a Unit 01 or 02 Oh boy...ICQ! I think this term is alien to the youngsters man! I remember there's another type of Internet communicator before ICQ but cannot recall the name...anybody can remember? sethho 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Sorry to be away the whole day due to dental and other appointments...DAY 2 of renoThe floor and doors have been hacked offThe kitchen cabinets and kitchen sinkThe storeroom is gone!I was worried when the marker for doorway between new MBR and study room was 950mm. It should be 850mm for 700mm wide door and the rest for door frames. The same for the MBR entrance at the low beam.Andrew's apprentice sent the 2D...but tbh, Ader did a faster and better job with a free online floor planner... He is hardworking and has a good attitude, so I did not want to hurt his pride. But I did send him Ader's copy for reference and inform him this is closer, but not 100%, to what we want.WHAT IS LEFT FOR DEMOLITION:1. MBR toilet wall (pending approval)2. Kitchen wall tiles and washing basin3. Everything in both toilets4. Windows and grillesEdit cos I miss out - 5. Wall between kitchen and living roomAt this pace, I expect to only finish all demolition (except MBR toilet wall) including clearing of debris by this Friday. The books are all so new, wifey borrowed many Nancy Drew books to re-live her childhood. Thank you gimz We were prepared to pay 40k for 3rm corners in Commonwealth/Queenstown areas. So that savings really help us with the overhaul. We did not consider Clementi at all for 2+ months... with little expectation of the neighbourhood, we were pleasantly surprised with the convenience now Demolition only takes 3 days, no need 5 days lah. Mine have so much hacking also 3 days only. Yes, 3 days is the timetable given by Darren, Andrew's project lead. But I am always pessimistic when it comes to 'dead lines'...lol

Your hubby and marshmallow will be our source of experts now for laundry pulley system First question - any recommendations or can we find them in shops that sell taps, basin, etc. like GR Links?
