patsy_sg 1 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 can anyone suggest how we can incorporate a shower screen in the existing toilet to prevent the whole place getting wet when someone showers in the guest bath? the only option i can think of without totally shifting the sewer pipes would be bring forward the sink, put a shower in between the sink and the bowl and add two doors to close up the space when someone is showering.. but that'll look so odd!! JCase 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Looks complicated unfortunately. My suggestion is that the 1st floor toiletbe converted to a powder room with shower facilities. If there is space could possible build a separate shower cube?
patsy_sg 1 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 am planning for the 1st floor toilet to be for the helpers use only, so she has some privacy, so would really want to do up the 2nd floor one especially since the guest room is to be in the 3rd floor! bit of a trek for guests to go all the way down to the 1st floor? JCase 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 The quick and cheap alternative is w/o moving the WC plumbing points is to build a small shower tray between the sink and WC and then use a shower curtain. This way the water will be contained and place won't get very wet. However ifyoudo have guests visiting I would imagine that they will use the toilet on level 1 instead of trekking to L2 or L3? JCase 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Todo this though, you will need to redo the floor as they will need to run an outlet from shower tray to the drain.

That will give some space for a shower, just wondering how to do a screen..... Marcus actually suggested 2 glass half doors - like panes that can be swung back and forth as required and lower the floor of the shower area to demarcate it. May work? JCase 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Do you plan to replace door? All my toilet doors are this type and I have replaced all with Besglas bi-fold doors. Space saver.
