wei2 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2011 Yes yes. test should be conducted! But I never see my contractor conducting the flooding test, and the floor tiles are already laid.Very worried that he actually didn't do waterproofing for my kitchen. What should I do? wei2 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 Checked with my contractor about testing for the waterproofing.I'm pretty sure he didn't do it, but he told my husband not to worry. He said his workers are all experienced and if really any leakage happened, HDB will look for him and not us.My husband and i have to believe him, there's really nothing much we can do. wei2 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 Renovation ProgressWindow installer took down the window in master bedroom toilet and changed it to white powder coated.Corrugated board laid for living and kitchen to protect my new floor tiles.Workers put white grouting for my grey wall tiles. Tried to ask contractor to use grey grouting instead but he said that it is too late to change as the lines have already harden.

wei2 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Not much update these few days.Electrical wiring running completed for whole house.Plastering still in progress.Plastering seems to be a tedious job.The worker started to plaster on 28th May, up till now, only 3 rooms are completed.Really glad that i decided to spend the money on plastering because it really makes a great difference to the entire place. wei2 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) Furniture shopping is the most headache for me.So many months into shopping, i have only gotten the sofa.We have been to all the furniture malls and warehouse at Sungei Kadut.Nothing both of us fancy. My husband and i, have quite different opinions. So its not easy for us to compromise on and settle for something we both like.Bed frames, realised that most of them are similar every where, and the choices are very limited. The kind of bed frames i'm looking for. wei2 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 This is the set that i loved most.Luckily, my husband likes it too.Wood with white glossy surface, what i'm trying to achieve for my home.Havent seen this displaying in any of the showrooms.High chance that i will try to get carpenter to fabricate this for me. LADY_R 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Hi Wei2, vry nice progress All the bed frames here are very nice and looks comfortable. If you have what in mind and also the design its best to custom made them. Try to check with your carpenter the price and try to out-sourc to others perhaps teak wood, like I did mine
wei2 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 Finally, some purchases after making endless trip to warehouses under the scorching sun.I have to admit furniture shopping is really tough for those who doesn't drive. We have to take cab on a few occasions as the places were really inaccessible. It's easy to hail a cab to our destination, the tough part is when we try to get a cab out.A lot of time is spent on traveling.Purchased Item - TV ConsoleWe were trying to find a tv console which is at least 2.2m, with white glossy surface and walnut wood mixture. We saw a lot of white tv consoles everywhere, but very few that are white + wood.So this is the one, busted my budget for a tv console, but couldn't find any cheaper alternative which look as good as this.Purchased Item - Shell ChairYeah, i don't know what to say, but i simply love this chair.Walnut wood with black leather. wei2 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 Purchased Item - Dining TableChange the leg frame to white color instead. Yes, our white with wood fetish.Happy to settle these purchases, but have to wait at least 2 months for delivery so that will be mid August. Was planning to move in mid July, guess we have to enjoy our meals on card-boxes or some make shift plastic table. Was hoping to do some customised furniture but realised they are not able to.The catalogs they showed us was very much what we can find in Star Living stores.Items are about $150 to $300 cheaper before bargaining.Left the shop disappointed thinking that it will be tough for me to get my ideal bed frame set. Will try to get the contact number of my contractor's carpenter and check if he can make what i want. wei2 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 I would very much love to have this in my home. But my heart was crushed when i saw the price tag for it.It was too much for my pocket to handle. Not to mentioned that i spotted the stressed look on my husband's face when i was admiring the chester.
