timothyng27 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 Hi Sheelaa,No I haven't got my TV yet. I think the electronics will be the last thing to get before we move in.Prices on all items that I want to get now will probably be about 15-20% cheaper by the time I move in Just shortlisting everything now. Just went to Courts at CCK and I saw a 50" plasma going for just above $1K.Even without Apps and 3D, I think it looks like quite a good deal.I think I'll probably go with LED although its a bit more expensive, but will wait it out Have you got your TV? Just thought that Plasma emits heat unlike LED , so you're better off with a LED
strikingreality 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 Do you have pictures of the pieces that you bought? I like the simple white powder coated dining table in their showroom.Plain simple and nice. Some of the dining chairs there I liked were not for sale yet - but they were pretty cool. There was a pair of black and white chairs, the base was kind of "slightly broken" at an angle for your butt to rest on.Very nice, and pretty comfortable. Let me go how things go for you. Will be keen to check out your purchases if possible Gotten the Real Good chairs and the Couchoid sofa. Am pretty sure I will get other stuff from the place. I love the items there.Think I know which table you're looking at. It's the one that has colourful bum chairs at one side, below the green lamp from Established and Sons? Can't wait to go there! Let me know how it goes, and take more pictures please! Going in the first week of August. Do you know which shops your friend went to? We've shortlisted a few, but so far we're looking at easy to carry back items, have not really looked at bulky items like tables etc.

strikingreality 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) The sofas are originally $2,400 thereabouts, but if you are interested, do check with Raymond (the owner) as he may still have 1 or 2 pcs on sale, which is what we got, at around $1,500 to $1,700. The chair on its own is just the metal seat, but you can get the Real Good chairpads, fits perfectly onto the seat due to the magnets at the four corners. Quite comfy with the chair pad. And there are Real Good Barstools and Real Good counter stools too! And yes, rottenramone's the hubby.

adidaem 6 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 Hi adidaem,Yes I've come across that place before. I've been to Lorgan's twice and both times they were closed.I thought they were out of business or had lazy salespeople In any case, the name Danish Design Co already makes it pretty appealing. Thanks very much for the recommendation.I actually checked out your blog and places visited on Google Maps before heading to Pomelo and Massimo. Will go check out Danish Design Co very very soon. Oh and Domicil as well. Btw if you're keen I can bring you to the JB lighting shop. I go in with my family every once in a while. So far no horror stories on my end - maybe because we drive a small honda fit and dress pretty shabbily But do PM me if you're interested. I should be able to make it next weekend once my ID is confirmed. Will probably want to bring him down too.Hi Timothy, thanks so much for your kind offer!! But I will have to buy the lights with my IDs. If anything I think they are pickier than us when choosing the lights (aesthetics, rims and what nots) so better to go with them. Really really appreciate your kind offer tho! When I called Danish Design Co, a nice lady called Jacqueline told me they have been around for a few years (5?) but don't do much advertising and their boss don't like to loan out furniture for photo shoots. So the store is better known by the expat community and by IDs and architects. Maybe you can call to check their hours? At Domicil, we like one of the staff called Ben. I brought my sis n her family there last weekend and the kids (one 7 & one 8 yo) loved the sofas so much, they kept telling their parents to buy everything. Super funny to watch the kids test the sofas. They told me the sofas are so comfy can fall asleep, stay there whole day, etc etc. And thanks for reading my blog! Glad to know at least one person is using the map. Was wondering if it's just a horrible waste of my time. Adidaem, how are the prices at this place?Hi strikingreality, the Gallery stool that I love is $799 (after 30% discount!). No surprise cos I'd checked the overseas prices from online stores but still... sigh, I've no budget for such frills! Lovely stuff for browsing anyways (online or in the store) if you are a window shopper like me. Thanks for sharing! I think Motto source their items from Indonesia, iirc. I am not sure if we would be able to get it in BKK though, have not found any BKK furniture shop that stock stuff similar to Motto. Oh, I will prob go to Indonesia on business trip in a few months. Can you recommend some nice places in Indo for home furnishings and accessories? And Blu Dot is like IKEA for hipsters? Very very rich hipsters I think! Yeah, very rich hipsters! Btw they have the Bludot coffee table on offer too. Think slightly over 200+ and a really good buy.
timothyng27 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Hi rayfox,Thanks for the update. Is it closed permanently, or for like upgrading / renovation works?Hope it's still around - like the place very very much. timothyng27 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Hi adidaem,Called to check their hours, a nice sounding angmoh lady picked up - looks like they're only open until 4pm on weekdays and 12-6pm on Weekends, and closed on Thursdays.Just checked out the Domicil website. Their sofa designs look pretty standard, but from what you say they sounds pretty comfy. Might go check them out tomorrow.Yes I found your map extremely helpful! At least I could group the places I wanted to check out and save some time. Thanks very much - your hard work is much appreciated by yours truly.Just put together another lookbook based on what I've seen. Will post it up separately Hi Timothy, thanks so much for your kind offer!! But I will have to buy the lights with my IDs. timothyng27 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 And here's the second lookbook I put together - something slightly more modern, but still very clean and neutral.I super lurve the dining chair! It's pretty much the same as the Maruni Hiroshima chair I think, but I wonder what's the price like.Any thoughts?
