hey bro i'd say why not you live in your house for a while to decide whether you want to get an air purifier with humidifier.

i have very bad sinus problem too so was initially thinking of getting that, but after living at my home for a few months, i will NEVER get anything close to a humidifier becos my place is simply too humid~! :( i feel that in aircon room it is just fine~ now i'm looking at air purifier without humidifier feature.

just my $0.02 for your consideration la~ ;)

Yup, will consider after I move in. Thanks so much for the advice.

One advice to all, better to check your renovation quotation again and again before u sign. Sometimes, what was communicated will not reflect directly on the quotation. There are always chances for communication breakdown. Today, I realized I signed for 3tier sys drawers instead of soft closing anti slam drawers. My bad that I never check the quotation properly though I thought I already did. :(

Another advice is to go thru the quotation item by item in details with your ID on the day u sign. :(

We will discuss today. Not sure about the top-up yet. Hopefully he can give it to me as complementary. Had recommended him a number of customers. :(

On the point of humidifier, I would advise against it. Firstly, I have chronic sinus and it did nothing to help my condition. Ironically, my condition was alot better when I was living in Toronto/Shanghai when it was drier. Secondly, the humidifier will cause your clothes to mould or stink after a while. Not so good for the clothes/furniture.

Hi, BlackCookie

Thank you for sharing the information. I didn't know it will cause the clothes to become moudly or stink!! Yuk yuk yuk!!!

I used to wash all the old clothes once in while to get rid of the stinky smell, no matter how clean I washed them (I always use fragrance softener for each wash)!! Nowadays, I try to leave the wardrobe doors slightly ajar and I am packing up all unworn & old clothes to leave more space in between the clothes in the wardrobe.

hey bro sometimes even when you have gone through the quotation 100 times, there will still be missing/miscommunicated items... it's like that one la, just discuss with your ID to see how to move on from here la~ :) missing some stuff doesn't render him a bad ID that is not worth recommending...

it's more important to have an ID who has good attitude and is opened to discussion. this is better than to have a 100% correct quotation :)

my sinus situation is same as BlackCookie. i'm better off in dryer areas like HK or Japan, even though HK air quality is supposed to be worse than SG! the ENT specialist told me that this is becos the allergen that causes my sinus problem are most likely fungus/other natural organic stuff that are commonly found in humid, tropical air. he has seen many of such cases before.

so need to narrow down to what is the trigger for your wife's sinus in order to find the right remedy... if really her nose needs more moisture, then it's better to use those purified sea water nasal spray to keep the nose moist, rather than to use a humidifier~

and my ENT suggested to take vit-B complex, which boosts one's immunity... it helps cos sinus problem usually can become better when one's health is improved :)

hope you can the remedy for your wife soon. i understand that chronic sinus problem is really very irritating... :(

Anyway, I just hope for the best, hopefully he can throw in. We thought we relate to him several times when we meet, but still there's communication breakdown. Haiz...

Brother

For the anti-slam closing, if you are referring to BLUM system like my installed kitchen cabinet, then you have to be clear and specify your requirements that you want BLUM, like what I did when I asked the carpenter to buy and install them.

From google, Heavy-duty 3 tier drawer slides with roller bearing wheels and has quieter action when close. May be you ask ID / carpenter to show you if it is what you want to install?

Sister,

I told him several times when we met that we want to use Excel soft closing doors and drawers for all the carpentry in our house and he said ok. I am not referring to BLUM system, as I know BLUM is expensive and Excel is a cheaper choice that also comes with soft closing drawers and cabinet doors which we were quite satisfied. I had seen soft closing drawers and heavy-duty 3 tier sys drawers many times before. Last night, he told me that Heavy-duty 3 tier drawers are soft closing and those I actually want are anti-slam. :dunno:

IMO, soft closing is anti-slam. They are the same things. If soft closing is not anti-slam, then what is soft-closing doors?

Anyway, it's not the ID's fault. It is just me that I never check this line properly before I signed on the contract. To me, as a layman, I would thought that "3 tier sys" refers to a column of 3 drawers.

doors using excel soft closing / drawers using excel 3 tier sys.
