Hope that less ppl will be cheated by this bad salesman named Q**** at this shop called MAJESTY Furnishing. I went there shopping for dining table. Then this salesman passed me a catalogue from a China company. I chose one 1.5m long table but I specifically told him I wanted 2m long coz' I hv a long hall. He said firmly no prob as long as given him 4 wks he would deliver. During payment, he firmly insisted that I made full payment. Since I liked the dining table and he seemed to be v firm. I paid the full amount with my credit card. Afterwards, I waited till one wk before the agreed delivery date, I called to check the status. He said the shipping list was not out yet that he would call me bk next Wed. So I waited. But no news. The next Thu I called in questioning him what happened, as the delivery due date would be the next Mon. He said he passed the msg to his boss and the shipping list was with his boss. And delay for furniture is unavoidable (totally different from what he told me before I made payment!). I felt cheated and insisted he must let me know an exact date. He said he would ask his boss to call me on the coming Sat. So I waited, again. Nothing happened. On Mon (the stated delivery due on the invoice) I called. His colleague named M****** answered. I told him the incident and he promised to call me back by end of the day. This M did call bk at abt 7pm, telling me that the factory in China did not agree to produce the 2m long version of the dining table. But they sourced another one, same look but with different materials, if I agree I need to wait for the goods to be made in China first. I was so fed up and since I was disappointed 2X, I did not hv much expectation for them either. I questioned why it took them 1mth to find out this could not be made and let me wait in vain. However I thanked M anyway. after all he's not the person who made undeliverable promise. And I asked for refund. There it goes, my 1 mth waiting time. I waited in vain and have already scheduled my house warming. Pls remember this Q and this shop MAJESTY Furnishing. Be careful when you order and do not pay full amount upon order! Actually i was wondering how the people actually managed to continue their business with such reputation and customer service.. Luckily you have mentioned this.. teckkang 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 I've had bad experienc with them as well...Ordered a Noguchi look alike coffee table. Delivery was 3 weeks. Paid half as deposit and another half upon deliveryGoods received on time but the quality was terrible upon close inspection. wooden legs had the black paint chippin off and the wood material splitting in multiple places. This was discovered after their delivery left. I had to send it in personally and in doing so sprained my back cos the glass top was extremely heavy. Upon confronting them, they were raising their voices so my wife and I shouted back. They agreed to an exchange and 2 weeks after that they called and said their china factory cannot produce the legs without quality problems and they refunded the funds in full promtly. From that day onwards, I've learnt my lesson well. Don't trust these small shops as their suppliers are likely cutting corners as well.sBought my coffee table from Air division. Kain_Sleepystar 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2011 Hmm, judging from the listed experiences, i recommend asking where are they going to manufacture the product. There are many factories in Singapore and Malaysia that deal in furniture (which i deal with often) that are far more reliable. On a side note, thanks for sharing the experience! If only I had read this thread before I placed my orders with Majestic.On Mon (27-Jun), a salesperson called to say the sofa fabric which we've chosen is out of stocks. I asked him when the new stocks will be available but he replied 'not in the near future' and asked us to come down and select another fabric. My guess is he simply didn't bother to check for us. The salesperson also says the delivery for the sofa most likely will be delayed..Now I'm really getting worried that they cannot deliver the goods as promised.. Hopefully the problem ends with just choosing a new sofa fabric and 1wk delivery delay!
