Different Contractors For Renovation

Hi

did anyone use more than 1 contractor for their reno (eg 1 for carpentry, 1 for flooring etc)? does each of the contractor have to apply for a seperate reno permit?

I had 2 reno permits even when its under 1 contractor.

1 for hacking and tiling, waterproofing, etc.

Another for windows, water pipes, etc

Carpentry no need permit la. U can check HDB website on what requires permit.

Having 2 contractors to do the jobs is normal.

This is what IDs do, they conolidate like 3 -4 contractors to do your house.

Their job is just to monitor.

So, if u are on budget, i guess this is the way to go.

But u have visit your house often to make sure they do the right thing.

i think i will be using more than 1 contractor for my upcoming reno..

1 for my masterbed room raised flooring...at least 1 more for the rest of the house..may have 1 more for my wardrobe/s..

most importantly...you must know what needs to be done 1st..

and of course...the co-ordinating work can be quite tiring...

but if you can confident of doing the co-ordinating..then why not?
