renotm 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Hi, Really like what u did to your place. I am in the apt hunting phase and I recently saw an exact same LO as your unit. Like the feel of the unit but initially dunno how to do the reno considering the unique LO (hence haven't place the OTP yet). Your t-blog gave me many new ideas and now I am seriously considering getting it. Couple of questions:1. The master bedroom's LO seems a bit "difficult" to place the bed and furnitures... may I ask how do u do that? Current owner converted it into a walk-in wardrobe but I would like to keep it as a bedroom. 2. Your windows looks big (tall)! May I ask what the height of the windows and if it is difficult to clean (considering the height). =PThanks in advance for your advice!

There are a couple of options; I will draw out n show u. Basically max is queen size. However if u r willing to do more hacking,U can create quite a lot of options.Mine the the top floor; The height of the flat is 2.8m approx. So the windows are really long; which is what I like about this unit. I guess using a ladder is the best way to clean the windows. We are quite lazy people so we hardly climb n the windows looks acceptable anyway. Haha...

I didn't measure when I was there, but I estimated the windows are ~1.5m tall? Yes, yes. I really appreciate any suggestions you have on the master room. Hacking? I am fine with hacking but hopefully still can maintain 3 bedrooms? Thanks a lot!!!

renotm 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 Talking about how to layout the master, here's a few suggestions:Version1Version2Version3Version4: require hacking a bit into the toilet.Any comments?Wow... nice 3D drawings! Thanks!Version 1: Good - wake up first thing can see the sky... Bad - also wake up first thing can see the sky... What's the distance between the toilet wall and the lower left end of the bed?Version 2: Everyone I talked to say no bed facing door.. so no.Version 3: Huh... this is a layout that is most interesting... in the middle of the room.Definitely worth considering. Version 4: My family already commented the master toilet not very big... with this hacking, dun see much more space generated and also make the room's LO even more... odd? Et209 1 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Actually I prefer version 2. Heehee.. I like the space... Space between bed n lower wall in version 1 is about 450mm. Should be enough tO walk through. Most important is the six of the bed u buy. I am assuming u r getting a queen. Dont get those that is bulky. Get the frameless type so u just make a headboard. Version 3 I like but must know how to decor the dressing table behind. I will try to post other 3d later.Actually there is a version 5. I will show u later. Et209 1 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 Version5: hack into the other room to creat space for a wardrobe. The allows the master to look bigger. Bad is that it may feel dark for the one sleeping on the left.

Bad is that it may feel dark for the one sleeping on the left. Thanks for all the suggestions! after re-looking at them again... I think version 2 is best (apart from the legs to door). Tmr going for 3rd viewing, most likely will place the OTP if no hiccups. Then your apt will be my reference for reno .

Andreja 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2011 It's nice when you can do that kind of drawings on iPad, I didn't know for that app....Regarding the master bedroom layout, can you maybe shift wardrobe on the bathroom wall? Assume that main door opening is inside the room so maybe it's not convenient to bump to the wardrobe side panel when you enter the room......or maybe to do it L-shape in that corner between main door and bathroom wall?Bed - how will look like if bed will be located diagonal in the right down corner of the room? Meaning, that the headboard and corner will look like an triangle? That corner can be used like some storage place (for blankets or something similar) as well as nightstand for lamp. In that case I will make a little bit round that external corner of bathroom, just that passageway between bed and wall be nicer. Can you do some drawings for that with that app on iPad and show that version as well?
