Opennet

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Need to find out more about OpenNet , cos I just received a letter from them which they offered me to make appt to install it in my house.

If I am not wrong, it is optional to install but issit advisable to install it at all?

My concern is that we will be moving out soon, and we are not too sure if our resale unit has already got it installed (prob will ask the seller) and if we needed it. I understand that the installation involves the laying of some cables into the house right? If I intend to install it, i should preferably fix it up before of during the reno so that the cables can be concealed??

like what you said, it's better to get it done during reno so you can conceal the trunking :)

as for your current house, since you are moving out soon, you may want to inform your buyer about this and let them contact Opennet on their own...

i suppose u can do them a small favour, no harm la.

it does not cost u anything. But if ur buyers want it in future they have to pay for it.

so depends on individual ba.

can google for opennet for more info, since u might use it in your new home...

in short, opennet will just install the terminal point which allows for faster internet access.

i view it as a "need to have" as fibre offers better value than broadband.

yea agree with gimz.

normally the window for opennet installation is around 3 months. if your buyer is taking over the flat within these 3 months, ask them to arrange on their own with opennet (better coordination with their reno i supposed).

but if your buyer is taking over after that 3 months, then yes please do them a favour to install now. else they need to fork out $220 to install and they will be cursing why the seller never install  (this is exactly what is happening for a few of my friends~ :P)
