Renovation in progress ~ Week 4

Mirror bought from Sim Siang Choon ~ should we mount in horizontally so that it will look wider = nicer? Comments, pls?

bidget sprayer ~ contractor took care of the holder height so the hose will not touch the floor. There is also a valve to turn off when not in use ~ so that the water will not drip.

Noticed that the circled area ~ the wall next to the feature wall looks quite bare?

Due to budget constraint, we dropped the idea of constructing custom-made mirror.

Any advice or ideas on what to do with that space? Decor?

It's $2100 to fabricate & install the L-shaped shoe cabinet (c/w low settee) with feature wall for bomb shelter. The 4 corners at the feature wall are reserved for the tea-toned mirror to match my full height mirror wall at the other side of the wall.

Like to check with the forummers here whether is it a must to do the "kai men" ritual? Does it apply only to new unoccupied flat or resale flat too? (This flat that we are moving in is already 10 years old we are the 3rd owner)

What is the significance of conducting the ritual i.e. roll pineapple, put apples, fa gao, charcoal wrapped in red paper, sprinkle salt and rice all over the house?

Post-Renovation ~ Week 4

Store-room rack installed by Yee-Sin

100_0990.jpg

Two uncles came and swiftly installed the racks in less than 1 hour's time. I chose the standard L-shaped for $200 net. There are a total of 4 tiers and each tier can hold up to 100kg of weight.

A peek into my study room that looks more like an "office" :D

100_1005.jpg

How to add a cosy and homely touch to it ? Painting? Potted Plants?

Bathroom mirror changed to horizontally mount ~ better. Now the look is complete.

Noticed the raffia string dangling from the ceiling? That is reserved for the opennet cable installation which will take place between 22 Aug 2011 to 10 Sep 2011 (too bad wasn't able to arrange installation during the renovation period)

Will need to buy some decor item to place on the floor beside the speaker to conceal the cable.

Still waiting for the following work to be done by this week.

1) Mirror for the living room

2) Kitchen glass backing

3) Curtains
