another interesting pcs of fixture/wall at the far end of the living room, they had to stop the work in the evening becos power drill gave up, which is probably a blessing in disguise, cos we were afraid that the late drillings will attract complains

unfortunately, handover was postponed to this coming wed... :(

hoping that everything can be done this time round

also faced a major hiccup last sat (the supposedly handover date), we found the kitchen leaking from the ground cabinet.

was told to prepare for the worst for them to tear down the entire kitchen carpentry to locate the source of the leak (pipes are all embedded behind)

it was speculated that the pipe must have been damaged during the prev reno and when we started doing our own reno, the constant turning on and off of the mains during our reno probably aggravated the damage and caused leak. there was always a wet puddle in the kitchen near when our reno began but we have shrugged it off as accidental spillage and didnt really pay attention to it

today, about 1/4 to 1/3 of our kitchen cabinets was torn down to locate the leak and (fortunately) they pinpointed a leak in a pipe embedded in the wall, apparently, the water seeped down through the cement wall behind the tiles and escaped from the base of the kitchen cabinet. the leak was most likely caused by a goondu worker who punched the nail into the pipe during the earlier reno... cant believe it when the houses now have tapes on the wall indicating where the pipes and they can still nail it directly on the spot. anyway, we are giving it a night to see how things goes, hopefully the water that is slowly dripping out now are the residual water left in the wall

no choice have to exceed a few days after handover to redo the kitchen separately for this unexpected problem...
