KenEmu 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2011 Hi all,I happen to stumble upon this thread while looking for reno stuff for my own flat,i'm also a sales consultant from one of the premium furniture importers here, won't say which company in case get into trouble for advertising. I'd like to explain that most the "leather sofas" in the market are using split leather and PU Leather. Depending on your budget for your sofa options, i can give a rough guideline to the general market for your referenceFor an average 3-seater size from 200cm-240cmPrice below $2000 - Manufactured Locally or Malaysia or China, chances are PU (Synthetic) LeatherPrice $2000 - %5000 - Manufactured Locally or Malaysia or China, chances are Split LeatherPrice $5000 - $8000 - Manufactured Locally or Malaysia or China, chances are Top Grain LeatherPrice $8000 & Above - Manufactured in Europe, Chance are Top Grain Leather.Actually when most retailers say Top Grain Leather its all BS. All machine compressed grains.. Look at all the grains are all so nice and uniform..where got cow hide so standardised one...Real cow hide is very rustic like an old cow boy's jacket..Real Brands who has Real Top Grain Cow Hide - Proof Living, Marquis Furniture, Space Furniture, etc.Understand that all consumers have their own set of budgets, just dont get conned by the BS sales talk from all the different places.Im not trying to advertise for myself, if you have any enquiries on any brands please feel free to PM me i can offer some advice. We do not even have an option for spilt leather. Therefore, When we said its full leather means, its full top grain leather. I hope that answers your questions. ciligaz 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 Hi Ciligaz,We were just introduced by a fella customer to this wonderful forum.Glad to know we are actually introduced to the forum by our customers. We are most willing to share if our customers are genuine to learn.Great to see so many people are sharing knowledge to prevent getting misled. Our display sofas are definitely not half leather and we welcome anyone to come and buy it and do a lab test on it.In which we are actually trying to sell off some display model to change new designs. (cheap cheap)It is a rare occurrence for us to miss any delivery date unless human error, like staff forgetting to order. To err is human. Our materials are always well-stocked and ready for any orders to be made. In an event, materials like leather is out of stock for a particular colour. We would make immediate notice to the customer to either delay delivery, change colour or do a full refund. We avoid doing consolidation and delay customer just to save on freights. We also have 2 regular shipments every month or more if demand arise.Lastly, to prevent any shortage of material or delay in production. We have a system built in to allow the factory ample time to order material and produce. Thus our delivery date is 4~6 weeks, perhaps a little longer than what other retailers provide, but we don't promise our customer to achieve sales and later delay delivery date.We are sure we will not disappoint you on your purchase and looking forward for more referrals from you.- Business are built on relationships*Do 'Like' us in Facebook or 'Follow' us in Twitter for promotions, events and interesting blog stories on living conceptsHi,Glad that you are in this forum as well, not sure if you are Fed, Gar or...???So far I'm happy with my purchase and is eagerly waiting for the delivery in Sep.Btw, I did not indicate the firmness of my sofa during purchase, can i assume it will be normal firmness ? Daveyap 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) something to share to all,i was hunting for a set of leather sofa with my wife for the past few weeks.went to many showroom and kana brainwashed by alot of salesman.but did not commit on anything because i dont feel comfortable by their "sales" talk.i got a friend working in the industry telling me that many stores sell you full leather but deliver PU, half leather or split leather at the price of full leather to maximise their profit. very unethical way of doing business.last sunday while shopping for sofa, my friend introduce me this company @ Kallang.he mentioned to me that they are a sofa manufacturer and mainly do export but sometime sells locally on referral basis.upon reaching there, i was kinda surprise that there is a showroom in a factory building.inside got many sofa models to view and if not enough they have a catalog in IPAD! that features over 100 models...kinda savvy company.i was greeted by 1 of their clerk...notice i wasn't talking about salesman now.the clerk introduce himself as an export executive and start to present me the range of leather that they are selling.they are very professional in the presentation telling me the different process and treatments on leather and the pros and cons of different processes.for their sofa range they only use top grain corrected leather and for the softer touch full grain aniline leather, solid tropical timber wood structure and pocketed spring with high density foam.they explain that consumer shouldn't buy sofa with material like PU or split leather as they will not last long and tear easily.i was amaze that their design and quality are as good as those i seen in park mall and harvey norman.after seeing their product, i was telling myself to prepare a big cheque for the quality and preparing to bargain.but to my surprise i was quoted a price that is not only irresistable but kept me from bargaining further as the price is very fair for such quality.in the end i bought a 3+2 full leather sofa from them and return home a happy man.overall i give them a 4/5 for their service and product.-1 to their factory condition showroom instead of a proper showroom.as they are not a retail shop, it is better to make an appointment with them to view. 63966381/98328828 1 sofa down...mattress next! Not trying to be mean or talk you down. I have an unhealthy obsession with leather furniture and stuffs until my wife wants to kill me so I do know a thing or 2 about leather furniture, hehehe. I have been trying to re-holster some of my custom made furniture and cushions to leather and went round checking on prices for nearly 2 years now, I very very very patient guy ;p I even went online to merchants websites like Alibaba to get in touch with furniture companies as I run my own trading company and have dealings with many other merchants. You said you bought a 3 seater plus a 2 seater. The average size of a single piece of cowhide is about 45 sq ft. As I get to physically inspect the leather before deciding whether I want to use it on my existing custom made furniture, I have to agree with Sam the Man that you better inspect your furniture very carefully when it arrives because the best wholesale leather cowhide price that I managed to obtain to re-holster my existing 3 seater is $1300 inclusive of labor! You are saying you are getting a 3 seater plus 2 seater in FULL Leather for just $1618!!!! Edited September 30, 2011 by Daveyap

As my 3 seater is a teak wood frame, I am only just re holstering my single large foam seat and 2 back cushions. The total cost is as stated above. And yet we have forum members telling us they got a good deal when it is more likely the furniture retailer securing a great deal at our expense.
