CubbyT 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2011 Hi all, I've called a few electrician today. Very siong. The reply is quite standard as follows: - Must tell them exact how many points, which type of switch, how far is the point away from the equipment(light); - Cannot do while renovating as they do not like to work with renovators; - 1 of them even ask me how big is my place, how many room... don't know for what...; - Some do switch but don't install ceiling fan; I'm shortlisting which electrician to use, hence need basic information like the cost of SCV point, power point(twin), light switches(with or without supply).... Gurus here please advise how should I go about. Maybe its my mistake.

ben263 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2011 re-wiring generally takes 4 to 5 days....I seriously mean rewiring as in ripping out everything and putting in new wires and ELCB box....
arowana 2 Report post Posted August 22, 2011 yup.. one more thing to watch out for is whether the electrician will loop from each room directly back to the ECB or is each further room piggy backed from another room. Basically it's like create multiple parallel circuits from just one main parallel circuit. The former is better in that, there's less tendency to trip the whole house when overloading. nat0206 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2011 My electrician is quite experienced. he is a little expensive, but patient. We swoped a few points around due to certain circumstances, and he didnt charge us extra. I think the price depends on if u are staying in a condo/hdb. Let me know if u need his contact.
