Touch-up For Unfinished Work By My Current Id

Sometimes I felt this industry is full of dishonest & greed. It's really a matter of luck whether you got a right person you have engaged. Even relatives or friends also can con you!!

However, I know quite a bit friends around doing property, renovation & servicing lines. Just think.. they have no high educational papers, most started from low up, or perhaps from the family's biz. They can be friends sitting in the coffeeshop, cafe or pub for drinks together.. but not engage them for service

They have told me it's better that I source for myself by taking some advises from them, whereas they know that we could may have conflict along the way & we would not want that eventually.

So I have been DIY for all of my stuff.. including renovation recently. And I guess RenoTalk community is the only forum I can find many info & contacts. The contractor cum ID also recommended by one of the Renotalkers here

sad to say, this is not uncommon in singapore, people rather cheat than earn thru honest means. i have similar experiences as TS but more sticky, anyway, when i source for IDs now, ah beng ID firms are a big no no for me.

I tot of an idea which i think might work against those bast* company...

Why dun we gather more ppl who were con by the company and protest outside the company asking them to refund the money or get the job done.... make a big woha... even if they call the police... u are not alone... u guys can reveal to the police what happen... and better still get the media down.... even if u dun get the money back... their reputation is ruin... and i am sure no customer will dare walk in with so many ppl protesting outside... those who want to sign will backoff.... Any comment on my idea??? Of cos must everyone united and find a day to go down the company together...

next time just practice by contract.. dun give everything. Even though im an ID but still follow order loh... unless i know him in person.. some customer are very easy going, can give me everything one. Those kind its easier to do things as the money is already there, so don't need to collect payment again then can proceed to the other stuffs. But still, if you don't know him then just follow by contract, win win situation. He is also afraid of you not paying up.. kena alot of these customers before. Starting everything ok ok, behind tell you this that this that, just die die mai pay me one. Even if bring to court is also quite pointless.. this is bo bian situation. We have to mark up pricings, cus co ordination and design things is part of our job. If everything we do cost to cost, then what are we earning? Of cus going direct will be cheap, but can you control the contractors? almost all of them demands up to 50% payment before doing your job, i use to have relatives facing such problems before i started doing this line. Advantages of bigger firms is that they have more cash liquidity thus able to provide warranty for you. Think twice before going to smaller firms and also going direct. Another thing is.. Cheap things doesn't come good. You want good service, good workmanship then prepare to pay more.

I am looking for a contractor to do the remaining touch up work which my current contractor didn't complete it.

I try to call by current contractor but he keep giving empty promise and didn't turn up to finish the uncompleted work.
