ConnieAng 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 Hi, I've just order a set of customised built-in wall system from Space Maker. Only realised later that it is also under La Cafa. The day that we walked in, was told that it was the last day of promotion. We did not bring our floor plan, to which the sales guy said that there is no time to waste to go home to take measurement and then return to place order, as such, he advised us to put in the order of 20 feet, and that this could be reduce later when we take measurement and decided that we don't need so much. To our horror, we found out that: - Firstly, it wasn't the last day of promotion. The promotion end till the end of the month. - A check with another company that supply the exactly same system (from Australia) charge a lower rate, even without promotion Subsequent dealing with them has proven to be unplesant. The claim that the order can be reduced is not honour upfront. still in the process of negotiation, but, each question posed to them takes 1 week turn around time. Worse come to worst, we'll have no choice but go to CASE for redress. Any one had any bad experience with them? Care to share?
ConnieAng 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2011 Was informed by the sales guy at Space Maker that the person-in-charge at La Cafa said that if we were to forfeit our initial deposit, the penalty would be 50%. OMG!!! I was so shocked how they came up with this figure. Written on the order form stated that forfeiture is 30% of the deposit. Absolutely no regards for what is stated at the order form. Was told that they have every right to forfeit 100 percent. I asked for an explaination how this golden number was decided. Again, we may have to wait another week for them to get back. Apparantly, they are not efficient with after-sales service(if any...), and they don't give a **** as to maintaining good relationship with customer to ensure repeat business. Very unethical and full of deception the moment after we signed on the dotted line. Pretty disgusted with the entire saga.

Now, I am having second thought on going to this shop. Keep me update of this issue.

For your case, 8ft to 7ft should be Ok. Good luck. What color did you chose for your door and frame? Our problem is we put down 20ft...because didn't bring the floor plan. He claimed that it can be reduced, we did double checked with him, he said it is not a problem. We requested it to be written on the form, he said it is not necessary. Now, it has become an issue. We should have insisted. It is a learning experience for us, just that we learn it through the hard way. I blame myself for trusting sales guy so easily. He seems so friendly and trustable. Specially brought my eldest girl there to witness our "negotiation" yesterday, again. Wanted to let her to take this as a life lesson My first reaction when I was told that the panalty for forfeiture is 50% is like....HUH? I know there are bound to be panalty, but, have they no respect for consumer right? Is that how they conduct business? In such a unscupulous way? Do they not care about their reputation? Now, I can only pray for serenity and look at things on the bright side. What goes around comes around. Edited April 11, 2011 by ConnieAng

AshTess 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 I also ordered my wardrobe from Don at space maker. Initially he was v helpful and seem very experienced. When told that we need the wardrobe by end May, he said no prob (we actually ordered that abt 3-4 weeks in adv)But the horror comes when its nearing the delivery date. He came done several times to take measurement for the place but when I called him to confirm the delivery date, he told me that there is shipment prob and that it would be delayed. And if not for me calling him, I dont think he would have called me. And he does not sound apologetic at all.. saying tat its shipment, not within his control. he also did not honour his words of calling up my hubby to explain things and better still, ddt show up at all when my wardrobe was finally installed 3 weeks later than agreed date. All in all, not a good experience w them. But quality of the wardrobe was ok (from what we can see) and the installers are responsible. My advice.. build in some delay clauses to protect yourself and mayb pay a lower deposit.. now that my reno is done, I am more convinced that we need to do more to protect ourselves from errant and irresponsible svc providers

ncsl999 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2011 where is the excel hardware? i also thinking of doing it..Yes. they are expensive and the selling point it that the wardrobes can be dismantle and relocate .. but there is a big hidden cost. So my note to everyone who wish to go for Lumiera .. pls watch out and the sales guy Don is only interested if you are doing new stuff so after sales service is very poor.
