nismosunny 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2011 it's the same. 1.5kW which takes 30 mins to heat up consumes the same electricity as 3kW which takes 15 mins to heat up. 3kW means electricity is being supplied to the water 2x faster than 1.5kW. Still very confused. Tot saying using 1.5kW storage which run more than 30mins can save electricity as claimed using instant heater with 3kW will consume more electricity when run it more than 30mins. Faster to heat up = consume more electricity? Ariston is the other way round: only has 1.5kW model in Singapore. is yours new or old HDB? newer HDB or those upgraded with higher electrical supply (40 Amp supply) can use 3kW storage heater, which is faster to heat up~ Mine is a new HDB. Its a headache considering which to install. Don't want to regret after installing Joven hard to find 1.5kW, mostly 3kW model. If it's for HDB use, then the wattage will b 1.5k watt, therefore instant heater will consume more if turn on for the same period of time. But due to high consumption of electricity , ppl tense to switch on the storage heater 15-30 min b4 using it. Depending on size of storage heater. If u want to save on electrical bill, then go for instant heater. (provided shower period is short, if it's turn on for abt 30 min then comsumption will be even higher then storage) Bcos instant wattage is 3-3.5kw , multi point even worst 4.5kw. Storage only 1.5 kw (HDB) If you need to hv rain shower then choose storage heater. (Strong pressure) If you dun need then choose instant keke... Hope this helps pal Is it true that if shower more than 30mins using instant heater will consume more electricity? JCase 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 25L tank is a little undersized for 2 toilets. if you do not use it concurrently it is still ok. but if both toilets shower on at the same time, then the amount of hot water might not be enough for a 25L tank. kitchen you do not really need hot water. also the heaters will be closer to the toilet side so there is a long run to the kitchen sink. and you will need to run the hot water some for some time before you get any hot water. if you really need hot water in the kitchen, then a instant heater is better. Agree that 25l for 2 toilets is small. Our new place has 3 toilets so not sure how to configure? 20L for MBR bathroom? 15L for common bathroom and junior MBR bathroom? Then electricity bill will be high? 2) even got off switch if we off it, it will defeat the purpose of having hot water anytime when we switch on right? 3) thinking of install 1 25litre to support 2 bathroom, think is cheaper if we install 2 instant heater inside each toilet right?
