therat 18 Report post Posted March 21, 2011 HDB inspector come and inspect. Then come out conclusion. If it is normal wear and tear. HDB might pay 50% out of good will. Balance 50% share between u and ur neigbour If it is due to waterproof didn't do properly during your renovation. U need to re-do the whole toilet flooring at your own cost. According to your T-blog, seem like u did reno your toilet during 2009. Pray hard. My MIL also face the same situation as you. However her last renovation was like 10+ yrs ago. Hence HDB conclusion is normal wear and tear. Hence HDB pay 50%, she pay $250, neigbour pay $250. As the leaking was from both common and master bedroom toilet. So her total damage is $500. Note: The cost does not include uninstall the toilet door and install back the toilet door. The contractor charge for uninstall and install. Better neg a price. godloveyou 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) TC responsible for "main stacker" only. Those "U" sub-stackers or pipes is users' problem. If no sign showing the leakage due to main stacker, TC mostly will recommend both to bear 50% of the cost. Experience shows that the leakages mostly happen at circumfence around floor traps and well, around main stacker, WC's "neck". Water sips along the pipes/stackers, spread to cement around them.
