Hi All,

Has anyone purchased any furniture from La Cafa? The store is on level 1 @Furniture Mall and sells all kinds of sofas, tables, dining sets & lights etc. I found they had a wide range of furniture with good workmanship & friendly service but not sure about the quality and durability of the leather.

Pls share your experiences & feedback, if any on this place.

Thanks!

TnJ

Nope, I did not. I tried to do a search to search for some info/post on La Cafa but the search system just didn't work for me. Later after I posted, I saw that my new message got added to an exisiting post on the same topic.

Anyway, am glad for the honest feedback here about La Cafa, so for me it is a definite NO.

TnJ :)

Hi, please take this as a warning NOT to make any purchases from La Cafa at the Furniture Mall.

Have placed order for a custom table from them costing $2K+, and owner Junie promised delivery date 1 month later on 15 Mar 2013. I had omitted checking online for the reviews since the staff appeared friendly and genuine, but it all turned out to be quite a hoax. Anyways, Delivery date passed by and not a phone call was received from them. Due to my busy schedule, I finally had the mind to call them on the 18th. The man on the line, Sunny, informed me that he had no idea on the delivery and had to check with the logistics manager who is out and will only be back the next day.

Next day comes, nearing end of day and still no call. Called them up again and Sunny gave some lame excuse again.

They were finally able to give a reply another 3 calls later and said that the delivery will be in May. They are clearly incompetent and this was the last straw. I went down personally and demanded for my deposit back and they refused saying that they had no cash in the premise. It is now past the date and I have yet to receive any delivery.

Warning to all, purchase from La Cafa at your own risk, do ensure that no deposit is placed with them if you should choose to do business with them.

I once visited La Cafa Mode Studio at Marina Square. I saw this nice L-shape sofa which the sales person (a middle-aged bespectacled Chinese man) quoted a price of $1699. At that time, he was the only staff in the showroom as it was already late at night.

I went back one week later and decided to get it. To my surprise, another sales person (a middle-aged Chinese lady) told me the sofa costs at least $2500 and there wasn't any promotion of this item in the preceeding weeks. I thought the middle-age man made a mistake and confronted him. To my surprise he said he didn't meet me before and I must have made a mistake!

Something fishy is going on as I recalled the male salesperson told me one week ago he has a factory in China and was able to customize most of the furniture to our liking. He even claimed he was the boss of the company. But the lady told us he is merely a salesperson and joined the company later than her.

What is going on??!

So guys beware of La Cafa! Something fishy is going on there!

Any more recent dealings with them? Saw a very pretty sofa set at the home show at expo yest, the sales lady serving us was Susan.

I purchased a beautiful dining table from them also at expo road show and was convinced to pay in full using credit card as the salesperson claimed the more I paid, the more lucky draw vouchers I would receive.

When the dining table finally arrived, I realized it wasn't the same as the one I saw at the road show. It was as if it was a cheapskate duplicate of the original item. The worksmanship sucks!

Very unethical!

Therefore, if you happen to see a 'pretty sofa set' from them, most likely you are not going to see the same thing when it is delivered. You will be short changed for something inferior!

Hi to all people looking for furnitures, there will be a furniture fair at expo hall 6 (Interior and Living Asia 2013), from the 21st - 29st dec 2013. There will be many furniture brands that will take part in this fair, and Renotalk will also be holding its booth at the fair (A9a) (Free gifts, lucky draw, interesting kitchen products for sale)!

If you are looking for furnitures, why not come down and take a look since the brands may also be holding their promotions in this fair and there are plenty of brands to choose from?

Renotalk looks forward in seeing you there!!!

Guys, if you are not getting what you ordered, please file a report with CASE. I have done so and I will make a small claims after Chinese New Year. We are protected by Lemon Law. Let's see how it can help us

2014 and things have not changed- they are operating under Mode Studios in Marina Square.

Nutshell- verbal promises but unfulfilled, many promises to deliver ordered furniture but no-show, kept being passed between Sales and "Delivery Department" with each blaming the other. Repeated requests to speak to someone from Management was denied citing Sales person is the boss.

Had no choice but ask CASE's help to intervene. This was 4 months after order. Only then someone from "Management" called but only committed to respond after being told the case will be further pursued with Small Claims if still no delivery.

Totally spoilt our family's Chinese new year. And we were then so happy to shift to our new house..

Buyer's Beware. At your own risk. It's really not worth the ordeal no matter how nice you think the furniture may seem..
