eiffel76 1 Report post Posted March 29, 2011 hmm differnt to do trading bussiness now lah., unless your pdt cannot be replicated and supplier wont sell to others that come along. Alot of ppl are bring things from oversea to sell in singapore, more ppl are buying online. yes i agree its really not easy. the most diff is the psychological barrier. the things we take for granted as employees such as rental, furniture, even the aircon now needs to come fr your own pocket. logger 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2011 Currently, pty does not as much liquidity. Best if you could pay fully or low mthly repayment for apt that is to be rent out. This will take out the unneccessary risk if high mortagage interest and failure to rent out. Must remember pty will take a few mths to sell if you need $$ urgently or unable to pay mortagage due to unforesee circumstances. Also even though pty will appreciate over time, if you need to rush to sell or sell during a downturn, you may sell below valuation. Those options that I mentioned above is more liquid and gurantee principle to a good extent. FD is fixed deposit, you may lose $$ due to exchange rate though. Ok roger, thanks. donemyhouse 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Stock market to earn dividend - 70% at safe heaven(earn dividend) and 30% as "float" to breakeven. Think this is far far better than all kind of deposi. Have been in and out of stock market for the past 10 years and I can really said that it heart pounding to see it at the high point and low point. However in order to make your life quality better, it need to take certain level of risk. Try to learn or read through from a few perspective of any particular share before moving in. I been using this few website which might be helpful:http://yieldstocks.reitdata.com/ (More for dividend)http://www.shareinvestor.com/ (spend some money to subscribe so that you got real time data)http://www.sharejunction.com/sharejunction/index.html (heard what others is saying but justify yourself) My score card(Some of them already holding for fews years so cannot compared)1) SPH2) SATS3) Singpost4) Suntec5) ST Engg HK sharehttp://www.mpfinance.com/htm/Finance/main.htmhttp://finance.sina.com.cn/1)0522 ASM2)02318Also had brought Hyflux Preference Shares as still think Hyflux can go despite the middle east issue might be a concern.Just my 2cents, Not trying to be someone but just like to share. donemyhouse 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2011 My idea is 70% at safe heaven(earn dividend) and 30% as "float" to breakeven. So you can see that for singtel, I don't really monitor whether it up or now.I just "parked it there to earn dividend' I do not think singtel price will have more power unless there is some merger or take over of regional telco. Singapore is too small to have 3 telco. Anyway, it might be a good time to sell off around the period they announced the earning if you do not intend to hold. Just my two cent.No offend to anyone.
