In short, what i am trying to illustrate here is that, the copper pipes supplied by HDB that runs INTO the wall is 1", but the pipes from HEATER STORAGE TANK TO HDB PIPES is 3/4", or 1/2". Ariston heater's water inlet and outlet are both 1/2". so the pipe going into and out of the heater will be 1/2". in industrial context, water source pipe will be of a larger diameter than the downstream users, and anyway, 1/2" is surely large enough for normal shower usage, i suppose you suspect 1/2" is too small? i dun think it's an issue here. any leakage in pipe joints/mixer elsewhere in the toilet? You are right, that was my suspicion. But since u said that 1/2" is not an issue, guess the problem lies elsehwhere. To get a good pressure/flowrate, i have to switch on the heater for a period of time b4 shower, hear the water rumble as though being heated/filled-up, and can only shower once the noise stops. Any way around this? water heating up has nothing to do with pressure... this one is storage heater, of course you need to switch it on earlier to allow the water to heat to the desired temperature and hot enough for your shower. if water is not hot enough, basically you need to mix more water from the storage heater as compared to when the water is hot. maybe mixer not good? hmmm. how about the cold water line to shower set?
