Hey guys,

I'm currently looking around for ideas and have since manage to shortlist a few from magazines and websites. Intend to create my own 3D drawings before sourcing for contractors/ID in hope this would cut down on mis comm and time explaining.

Can anyone with knowledge in the industry share whats the most commonly used 3D design software used by those interior design firm? I think it would be easier for me in future if my soft copy format can fit into their software for easy editing.

Many thanks!

Suggest that you hand draw or simply sketch them. It is the job of the ID to do the drawings (3D or in Autocad) for you if they want your biz! Usually they do that for free once you give them the job and pay the deposit. Good contractor or ID will draw out the final product and make you sign on the drawing to avoid disputes when the products are made.

Learning the software is too much unless you intend to make ID your new career. You pay money, go relax on the beach and leave it to the professionals! You want some good IDs? I have a few different companies to recommend.

Hi John,

I was thinking if I were to provide the drawings to the contractor, It will help me express better on what I want. Not going to make this ID my career...LOL....not me..

Sighs..Good IDs...I am clueless..everyone also claim they are good IDs..I am relying on those who really has done their renovation with those IDs or contractors.....Past and present project plus the team of carpentary of those IDs are not changed yet....lol...but I know it is hard to find one. Morever, I am on budget constraint and need job to done within a month. I am not sure whether those companies wanna take my job or not...
