A Little Tale

Recommended Posts

If you wanna hack the overhead beam, you must engage a civil and structural engineer to certify it fit-for-hacking. It will then be easier to get approval from HDB :)

you mean can be hacked with approval? This is the same as PE?

You have to pay a few hundred dollars to check whether it is fit to hack (the beam) or not. May be unfit to hack too... and it be a waste of $.

didn't know there was even an option. Bc when we saw beam, the first reaction was "that's it, can't do anything'. At least, for walls still can try to see if can hack - well, that was my knowledge then. Wished I had known earlier about the beam

Anyone know where i can buy 5 pcs dining table with a combination of

2 acrylic chairs (also known as ghost chair ) and a bench?

We would like to magnify our dining area as we install full height mirror at dining area .

The glass panel separating the kitchen and living area should b able to do the job too...

hopefully .

Something like this ?

We went to a showroom at Eunos Ave 7 last weekend , nice table and chairs , but very pricey!

agree agree.

actually it's not just the beam. After a while of moving in, we became blind to many other things which we were originally fussy about

Going on smoothly

We inspected the progress of our renovation closely. Thus far, good and steady progress :)

To share bad experience with a contractor last year. We engaged ‘Co**r Cre*tion to do simple work at our current L- flat (partition, painting , scraping of wall paper and 4ft top kitchen cabinet. Got the contact from newspaper. Such a bad experience. Very stressful!

- Did not complete work as promised. Contractor who co ordinated our small project was terminated soon after

- They send over an old uncle to paint our L flat. Poor uncle has to scrap wall paper and paint whole house. We have to stay with someone else on weekend cause he needs to shift things around the small house

- Left our keys at top ledge of the meter board outside our flat. We got so mad and hide away the key. Told contractor someone took the key and we deduct $50 from the total cost. To buy new lock!

Such contractor also have! Very the Kek Sim!

Learning from experience, we get a little kiasu and reiterated our fears to all the contractors we visited.

Any bad experiences that any of you can share ? Learning points for us . And for us to take note during our renovation journey
