No need for doorbells when you have ever-alert, super-protective Maxey about! Without the pack of dogs now, he feels it's his sole responsibility to guard the place (and me) and is even sacrificing his afternoon naps for this!

Yeah, all the delivery people are always so confused and have to look at neighbour's tarnished plate to determine ours. :D

Yeah I have not been since Nov after coming back from London. Even found a gym with punch bags to train at whilst over there. Due to my wifes pregnancy I have not been able to go. Another month and hopefully I can get back in to the routine. Gotta sort the diet out again as well. No more fast food....... :D.

Ely, it took us 2 months after we moved in before we put a unit number sign up. We have quite a few calls from food delivery people when we ordered dinner online as they were not sure which unit it was. Didn't help that we forgot to update our address one time, luckily our new unit is pretty close to our old one, and until recently we made a mistake and had the new block with the correct floor but the old units unit number. Took a while to work out why people kept on calling.

We put up a basic unit number sign but also have a placard one the front door which I will take a snap of and we are getting my parents to bring over a metal placard when they come over of this for the front of the unit.

Buying from here. They have lots of dog and cat and assorted animal ones :D.

I WAS looking online for nicer plate numbers. Went to the site you're buying from - they have Lancashire Heeler but no Chihuahua?? Humph. Will be looking at eBay again :/

it's so heartwarming to read this  parents are really the best! makes me miss my parents too... *sniff*

yup we were talking about TCM some time back rite~ (which page was that? :P) during reno/wedding prep, i was so busy that i didn't work out for some half a year~ until the gym pple called up and asked why i haven't been turning up!

Heya Marshy,

Yeah, that was quite a while back when we had a loonnng discussion about TCM. Still coughing very badly (from the asthma) so definitely will have to wait a bit before even attempting a workout. Man, my stamina is probably so crap that I might not even pull through a yoga session bleh. Loved it when I could plough through 1.5hrs of intense kick boxing and circuit training. Never worked out all my life - only started a year ago and the body is such an amazing machine, it simply adapts and recovers faster than I can imagine. Within a month, I was RUNNING - an awesome feel for someone so bogged down with asthma as could never run before.

I'm too shy to join a gym. Prefer to work out at home to videos. Don't know why but I'd feel conscious if someone watches me work out or if I cannot keep up with the class. also, stationery machines are too boring for me - my interest wouldn't last 10mins on the Stairmaster or treadmill :P

Luckily, I've shifted the photoshoot to Sep, so have time to get into shape! Or get some facials!

Ha, your shape is just fine.

Mine however could do with a little 'trimming' :P.

I was the same as you when I went to the gym to start with when I was over 106kg and had lost my jawline completely. Just got on with it and ignored everyone else and within a couple of weeks was lifting an ok weight then a couple of months in was lifting heavier than most. That was fitness first though. Now in True Fitness there are a lot more serious people there although there are also quite a few carrots (very large muscular top halves and skinny legs). Still have a way to go on the top half but the legs were doing ok. Managed to deadlift 102Kg as a PB but only once or twice in a session. Starting with the punch bag again will see me exhausted at 15-20 mins but it will rapidly increase. I hate running machines as I get pain in my shins and although specially fitted running shoes should get rid of it, they are very expensive... Doing some HIIT (high intensity interval training) training on the cross trainer is much better and only needs to last around 10-15 minutes. The bike is also fine but my butt goes numb after a while. So many wont join a gym because of what others may thing. TBH if you go to a decent gym then people will be too bothered working out themselves to care. You may attract some extra attention due to your looks but there are a fair few other slim, toned very attractive women there already so it is not like you would be attracting all the attention. I put my fitness blog up and even posted periodic results in order for others to see it is really not so difficult if they can take the first step and I am proud that it had quite a following although I have not updated in a while now.

Anyway, I guess working out at home is cheaper if you really cannot drag yourself out :P.

LOL... we didn't change the main door and kept the original number plate - those white-font-on-black-background type. very "retro" but ugly~ :( but at least pple can find our unit~

i also dun do the machine cos it bores me to the core. dun think i can last 5 mins there (except for trackmill). so actually when i go to gym (or fitness club might be a more appropriate description?), i join the classes. i seriously lack discipline and can never workout on my own like you, so i join the classes to make sure that i will stay in the studio for at least 1 hour~

i started going for fitness classes some 5 yrs ago, when i fell sick 3 times in 2 months and decided that i need to do something to my health~ :D exercise is really good! i feel much stronger ever since i started exercising~ i love kick-boxing too~ :)

i don't mind exercising in a class but i really mind having guys around. so i joined an all-female fitness club :P

hahaha Ely is already very skinny but i guess exercising does help to put the "glow" on the face back and she will need this for photo shoot~

and it's true that most pple would just mind their own business and don't bother about others - unless you are some extremely weird person that would attract a lot of attention (e.g. there was one that turned up in kick-boxing class either in skimpy bikini or in pyjamas :o). going to an all-female club helps cos there won't be unwanted stares from guys.... :P

but yea i would have saved some money if i have the disciplined to work out at home...................

Totally not skinny anymore omgah. Probably need layers of Spanx~

I think I'm just embarrassed to be huffing and puffing in front of others. I'm very self-conscious. Only person who has seen me workout is The Husband, and that took him more than a year for me to get to that comfort level. It took him 6 months to even see me eat in front of him! I'm just so weird :P

Lol Marshy, you made me laugh with the strange people at the gym (PJs, seriously??) I also don't like the exhibitionistic types who walk around naked in the bathroom because they know they have a good body. Like naked and applying makeup! She was eventually given a warning before getting banned from the gym for her um daring behaviour.

I motivate myself by buying nice workout gear :P Cute boyshorts and awesome sports bras from Moving Comfort, Under Armour, Champion and I love my Kayanos. Once I get motivated enough to put on the shoes, the rest will come. The problem with working out at home is that no one is there to correct your form, which is why I use the swivel TV to face a full length mirror :P Good music always helps too - I kickbox very happily to Run DMC haha!

What I do like about my body is that it's strong and it can move furniture around :D That sense of empowerment is far greater than being starved, denying yourself of that last piece of tiramisu, eating like a rabbit, and being able to fit into that clingy dress.

You are only as weird as you let yourself be.

I am clearly going to the wrong gym..... :o;)

Form is a problem and a lot of the information I have gotten from PTs is really not as good as it should be. Having seen the recruitment process for PTs it is really not so surprising though.

What I do like about my body is that it's strong and it can move furniture around :D That sense of empowerment is far greater than being starved, denying yourself of that last piece of tiramisu, eating like a rabbit, and being able to fit into that clingy dress.

Yes and it is sad that many girls think slim = skinny rather than fit but strong without being overly muscular. It is easy to be toned, firm and elegant without being muscular. Toned is much more appealing than skinny or floppy.

Well you said it - I'm currently skinny-fat. :bleah: Very gross indeed. All the stress led to binge eating at night but thankfully, after moving in, no more nurturing Mom to overstock fridge with ready meals all waiting for 1:30mins in the microwave!
