PHASE 1.75

To even my utter amazement, these are pics taken BEFORE the daily ritual of cleaning... And yes, it's that tidy everyday - already too much clutter as it is to tolerate untidiness. Thankfully, both The Husband and I are quite neat-freaks. :P

your home, seems cluttered as there's alot of items around, yet neat (very systematic).

Lovely!

again, i must say, its the small small items that makes a place so personal and homely. :)

Heya May,

You've gone quiet for weeks - glad you're back :) Yes, I do spend the bulk of my time (if I'm not cleaning) at the balcony. The resident kingfisher couple are a joy to watch, the flock of parakeets, woodpeckers, spotted doves, pigeons and cockatoos. It's especially lovely sitting out here whilst it is raining. Pretty lucky, I guess, to have found this place :)

Got the same lock locally, we installed the casement wrongly or something so the contact with the cables was what was eating up the batteries daily. We're planning to fit the spare one on the back door.

I cannot agree more about the Electrolux WM - was really pleasantly surprised how clean my clothes came out. Guess I shouldn't have bought into that silly "made in Italy" sales pitch and topped up an extra $700 for that omgah.

Now, the master bathroom is flooding. Literally. I have no idea why things keep going wrong - ID will come down tomorrow to check and try to rectify it. Hopefully no more re-hacking and re-tiling because my allergies just got better! Unfortunately, ONE tile has got to be replaced as we tried to install a shelf ourselves and broke it ><

I wonder why we feel our homes are cookie-cutter, perhaps it's the ol' adage of familiarity breeds contempt?? I look at it everyday and simply find it too cluttered (moved out the couch segment from the common bedroom to the living, so it's 3.2m long..., with a chaise lounge, and 2 Barcelona stools...)

Now awaiting some rugs I got online for the wet kitchen, and trinkets for my Hollywood dresser hehe :) Perhaps, I'll post some Phase 1.75 pics tonight.

Phase 2 will see some additions to the WIW :)

Dear lovely Ely, I was not gone for weeks... Just 2 weeks!! Not that long... You missed me too much?? Haha....

A lesson to all, better get local set instead of online then trying to install it yourself. Never know what is going to happen especially for front door digital lock.

Maybe the "cookie-cutter" idea came from Renotalk since seem like something we are doing, everyone else does the same? But the end result actually are totally unique and special? So let's leave this term in the closet and don't talk about it again, whether it's you or me. Hehe....

Love the sound and feel of falling rain... And don't make me more envious than I already am about your balcony. My poor little place do not have such luxury of balcony. :(

Oh, please don't mention the shoes... I had to throw away quite several pairs because the wardrobe is too small! Not to mention, it's going to be hard for me to buy any more shoes! AHH! The Husband has imposed an "one pair in, one pair out" rule so must figure out which ones I want to chuck (or secretly conceal) before getting new ones.

Yeah, I wasn't kidding about the clutter. And it's like you said, footprint, an organised clutter, ie. not household clutter with piled up dish rack or strewn laundry, or just bottles and boxes of stuff everywhere. You don't even see a dishwashing sponge (thanks to Simple Human haha!). I'm the sort who keeps the electric kettle and rice cooker after each use... It's an "American clutter", perhaps, maybe because I've been so influenced by Apartment Therapy, DecorPad etc. I never used to buy local home magazines.

What's difficult is knowing when to stop buying/adding, and maintaining everything in its place. What's important is knowing when to stop sweating the small stuff and finally enjoy the home I so lovingly built. :)

What I would like to add:

More flowers!! :)
