The Best Journey Always Leads Us Home

Recommended Posts

Aww, you missed the pic of my D20s, amongst others:

I started with Pac Man when I was 7... :P Then Atari and Sega, then moved on to PC C&C, Championship Manager, Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights. My personal fave is still DAoC :)

- Ely

Finally found mine too but my youngest has now taken them as his own from the moment he set his eyes on them :D.

Space invaders, Battle zone, up through the Atari 2600 (missile command, moon buggy, pong etc), Dragon 32, Speccy 48, Speccy +3, 386DX 25mhz with F15 Strike eagle requiring a 5 1/4 key disk to play and then ever onwards and upwards. Tend to play the Stalker series, Borderlands, Dawn of War and Fallout now on the PC and Mass Effect, Dragon age, Borderlands, COD/MOH games, Shift etc on the XBox 360.

I tend not to play online as there are more kiddys/idiots out there than there are decent people to play with so, just by the rule of averages, I am likely to end up with someone who will be throwing insults and tantrums all over the place.

Me too SethHo. I used to run AD&D campaigns. I usually wrote them for the Ravenloft set of rules although I played a number of games with others in the forgotten realms ruleset. I also set a few based on the Oriental Adventures rules. Started with D&D then progressed to AD&D from the 2nd ed onwards :D. Same as you, the groups just died out in the end. Used to be good fun. Pizza, soft drinks or beer, ice cream, 24 hour session....

I feel 'young' again with you guys! lol

First PC game that got me hooked is 'Art of War', first PC RPG - Dark Heart of Uukrul. First Playstation games - FF VII, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil. I can still recall the fright from those sudden zombie scenes when playing at night hours :sport-smiley-004:

Hey RB - its always great to find another Ravenloft fan! :D When I DM, I always bring them to Ravenloft campaign through the Mist. We have a munchkin in our group that force us to mix-max rather than role play in Faerun (Forgotten Realms). Cyberpunk and Vampire the Masquerade (table top) are some of my other favorites. Though we dabble in other game system like Palladium for Robotech and Marvel superheroes.

Let me guess - you have a collection of Knights of the Dinner Table? They bring back so much memories...sigh

CCG was a short craze, but I still have some of my M:TG and Legend of the Five Rings cards... sold most of the dual lands though.

OMGAH I loved FF (wru Squall irl~), Metal Gear Solid (Snaaaakkkeee! Snaaaaaakee!), Resident Evil (all the guys were such babies, jumping during the zombie scenes, it got me so annoyed I took over the controls), and Legend of the Dragoon.

And are you trying to say we're old :( Maybe it would serve me better if I stick to talking about shoes (hmm, stilettos = pierce damage, platform shoes = crush damage, ballet flats = 0 AF, cowboy boots = slash dmg, knee-high heeled leather boots = stun/mezz without resist~)

Um guess not.

I agree... if this happens to my renovation, I rather tough it out now for a complete touch up. Let your ID know that you are upset and their reputation is at stake here! :furious:

I think it just spoils the whole look of everything, especially after you've sooo much on the reno :/

It was brought up by the ID but the house was so poorly-lit (they didn't have any ceiling lights/lamps except for 1 in the dining room) that we thought we could save on the plastering. It was only after the first paint job done then we realised how terrible the walls are, and had the worst covered with a board, and another plastered. Now, we're just doing the major walls and corners which seem to be the worst and (trying) to ignore the ones that are not so obvious or well-lit. I had no idea that painting couldn't rectify it!

It won't be 100% perfect but I can live with 80%.

Well, The Husband conceded passive-aggressively and we spent the whole night cling-wrapping all of the furniture/island/HTS.

Ooh, DIY for the day:

Remember those Ikea wooden storage shelves? Used the inserts and was going to throw the casement away then decided to convert it into guest amenities shelf! Used a glossy paper bag for the backdrop:

Painted another with chalkboard fronts so I can label all my hoarding. :P

I can talk about shoes :D At least I learned just enough to get Ader ladies' boots, since that is her fav footwear in Australia and she looks good in them :good: In Singapore, she only wears them in the monsoon season.

The last pair I got her is from Franco Sarto:

Edit - key feature: comfortably shaped, soft leather, good balance and the heels are not too tall.

Wow! all branded stuff! can i go over to stay when i am bored with my bedroom? :sport-smiley-004: then i can use all those branded stuff....hahahahaa.....

Ya, i believe that plastering is a must in reno. its cost a lot but then its better to pay for that than to regret it in the end of reno when most stuff are mostly done.

Well, May offered to USE the toiletries if she comes as an over-night guest, which is what they're meant for! :P

P.S. I wiped a group of 80 when I lagged into the lava and everyone was on /stick since I was raid leader... Was so embarrassed. Helps when you're female and leading raids, the guys all shut up when they hear a girl's voice on Ventrilo~

hmmmmmm could it be becos you're very fair?

Lots of girls are very fair (you being one of them). I used to get more flattering guesses like Taiwanese, Eurasian, Indonesian (??), Japanese... I always think that the China-girl (and I'm stereotyping - sorry!!) resemblance is about me looking like some kind of mistress or gold-digger!

Well, too late for that now. Too much stuff is already in the house, and whole-house plastering is usually done in the initial stages. Being so close to completion, the best we can do (to reduce damage to the laminates, floors, fixtures, furniture) is to do touch-up plastering. I'm at that stage now (the regret part) but I blame it on my lousy foresight and for not doing a thorough enough inspection first. Sadness.

No wedding pics...yet. And most likely will only have 1. I don't like putting up pictures with me in them :P Probably my dark and twisty art, some DIY ones, and yes, I took up the eBay offer with Snapfish to do a poster collage for only S$4.98 with all pictures of cats/dogs !

It was the art that required me to plaster the walls, as there's halogen lights for them... Lose/lose!
