Ceiling Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi Brothers and Sisters,

I completed my renovation in Dec 2010. Just now, my "directly downstair" neighbour came up and told me both his common and MBR ceiling leaking. :( I have not consulted my contractor as is late now. May I know anybody got this unplensant experience and advice me how to deal with it. Thank you for reading..

This is an old problem becox it's likely that your contractor didn't waterproof your flooring properly before laying tiles.

If you neighbour alert the HDB officer, he will pay you owners a visit & ask you to get your contractor to rectify the problems. However, those "injections" or fillers to stop their ceiling from leaking is very expensive.

My granny had such nightmares more than 20 years ago when her new neighbours staying upstairs did major reno, including hacking & changing of tiles. Hers is a very old flat.
