Which Master To Chose For Name Change?

Hi all,

May i know which master to look for name change? Any encounter, good or bad?

There are many geomencers in the industry providing such services. It really depends on yourself who you want to go for. Names take shape on a person, on a long run. It shouldn't have an immediate effect.

Based on my opinion & perspectives, it really depends on the motivation or reason behind name change. Each one who requests for a name change has his/ her reason/s.

Personal attitude in life is very important. So if a change of name is requested for the wrong reason/s, then the person may not benefit from such changes becox it's deemed as "superficial".

U'll also have to be aware that if you are considering a change of name, u could opt for one that's pronounced differently from your original chinese name or one that has same / similar pronounciation as what's originally given by your parents to youself.

Like what I've indicated in my earlier thread, I would like to reiterate that the effects of name changes are pretty subjective.

2 persons can get their recommendations from the same geomencer but it may work well for 1 but not the other.

Name change is definitely not an answer or solution to improving a person's quality of life, that's if there are other inherent problems which has to be rectified by the person.

Did u recall the hilton hotel's bridegroom who fell to his death on his wedding night while his bride was waiting for him in their hotel room? He was locked out of the hotel aisle after he went out into the emergency staircase, and eventually, fell to his death in total darkness but looking for a way out.

It was published in the press that he has 2 names, one given by parents and the other which was totally different in pronounciation, a change of name probabbly given by a geomencer.

And I even had a classmate during my school days where she had a name change (same pronounciation) but her father died in a freak accident (within a short period of time) as a carpenter when the kitchen wall cabinet crashed onto his head while he was taking a nap after lunch.

Not sure if this has anything to do with change of names but somehow or rather, we'll have a strong tendency to conclude that it has.

Kpo here about human's name. It does has some "impacts" on one's life. What I can associate with it is only popularity/stress/displease/enjoyment, no more & no less.

Names are usually given by seniors, either parents or grand parents...One should remain his name, to a minimum, as a respect or gesture of appreciation to his/her parents. Anyway, this is subjective.

If you want to be a "public" figure, then you should get a name which is "meaningful" yet easy to remember/to read or even to shout, not easy to be made fun of in pronounciation. Example: "LKY" - easy to remember & read. At yishun coffeeshop, you can hear ppls shout "Ong Ah Heng lai liao", Ah heng this & ah heng that.....everything got "heng". Ah chye, Ah hock, Ah Tee not uncommon...I have a friend called "S K Lim", he enjoys ppls called him "ice-cream".

Forget about the number of strokes in chinese characters - do not be manipulated by fsms. Before jail, Taiwanese fsms said the name "陈水扁" very good, now?

I spent months to "conclude" chinese names to my son & daughter. My angmor cannot swim, so wife bought a book with explanation of meanings of "chriantian names". So eventually no "han yu pin yin", only surname + christian name in their BC, as I found the "han yu pin yin" of chinese characters to angmor is quite hopeless & meaningless.

Since they knew how to hold a pencil, I started teaching them to stroke here & stroke there to write their chinese characters and explained the meaning our "hopes" onto them. They have on many occassions, left their names on playgrounds and beaches.

Very subjective topic. No right or wrong answer when it comes to change of chinese names.

If you check out those chinese websites on name interpretation, there are people with very very bad names but they are very successful in life.

Then on the other hand, there are those with very good names but they run into trouble throughout their lives.

To cite an example, I had been told by my classmate's granny since my varsity days that my chinese name is not suitable for my bazi. Old granny cited out the problems that the name my parents had given.

At that point in time, changing of name given by parents seemed akin to a sin. I didn't dare to change it. Then, when I reached a certain age, not sure if it's destiny or the name, the underlying meaning of my original chinese name was materialised.

After I changed my name (and had to work from inside out, meaning that have to recognise the need to change & correct faulty attitudes in life), things did improve. Especially my health.

However, there are tools that indicated that my current (2nd) name is not ideal based on the "Wuxing" for my bazi. It's not perfect but I would prefer to work on myself rather than going for a 3rd change of name!

In Buddhism, it doesn't encourage change of names becox this religion believes in karma.

It believes that if a person is given a bad name by parents, it's this person's bad karma. Cannot blame on one's parents for a less than satisfactory name.

Recommendations on masters for Geomency services is generally risky.

Because if things didn't work out, then "jia-luc" liao lor...

It would come across like it's the fault of the person who recommended the master.

My understanding of present's chinese characters were from 甲骨文 and which were actually "pictures" of the objects. Pictures where got stroke here & stroke there? Why make simple things complicated? Remember one fact: 万变不离其宗。
