The apartment already has ceramic flooring, kitchen floor / wall tilees, 2 baths are done up as well as the electricals. What i need done is - Kitchen cabinets top / bottom with solid surface top Wardrobe 6 ft full height in Master Bedroom Full height 3 ft full height cabinets in bomb shelter LIght box in living room Light box in Master bedroom Acrylic shower screen in master bathroom Acrylic shower screen in common bathroom 3 x ceiling fans 2 x water heaters Window grills for all 3 rooms + kitchen yard Curtain rails 3 x regular ceiling lights 2 x regular ceiling lights for bathrooms Is it possible to have the above done within $10K If so, can someone recommend me a reliable contractor for this job please. spikyfur 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2011 just a rough gauge.. i think u may actually be able to do everything within $10k Kitchen cabinets top / bottom $120psf if total 20ft = $2400 solid surface top $80psf if 10ft = $800 Wardrobe 6 ft full height in Master Bedroom ~$180pfr = $1080 Full height 3 ft full height cabinets in bomb shelter (one carpenter quote me $750 for 1200mm full height shoe rack) LIght box in living room (my current contractor quote me $1900 for mbr and living room with false ceiling) Acrylic shower screen in master bathroom (is this good? i also interested if it's cheap and look good) Acrylic shower screen in common bathroom 3 x ceiling fans 2 x water heaters Window grills for all 3 rooms + kitchen yard( someone here did $5psf for 26 panels = $880) Curtain rails 3 x regular ceiling lights (assume light points is already up, $10 for installation, maybe ceiling light itself $50onwards?) 2 x regular ceiling lights for bathrooms ($30 onwards?) Meaning that you get your own carpenter, electrician, installers for acrylic screens, etc. Likely to be cheaper than going through a main contractor because he will mark up the total cost as he works with subcontractors & would definitely need to make a living too. We thought of going for ala carte services too, BUT the main problems are1. what is the correct flow of renovation? as in, who do what first??2. how do we know they are doing the works correctly?
