calaislily 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 My bro and his gf want to purchase an EC unit but the gf jointly owns a HDB flat with her mother. It seems that they are not eligible to purchase the EC under such circumstance. Can the gf request HDB to remove her name as a joint tenant of the HDB flat and how long would it take? Anyone has some answers? TIA
therat 18 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 The answer can be found in HDB ASK HDB # Q: # How do I submit an application to transfer the ownership of my existing HDB flat? # A: # You can obtain a copy of the transfer of flat ownership application form at any HDB Branch Office. However, prior to submitting the application, the proposed owners are advised to confirm their eligibility to take over the ownership of the existing HDB flat. To do so, they can submit an online request - Eligibility to Take Over the Flat. If you wish to transfer a flat, you should * Determine the proposed owners' eligibility to take over the flat, and * Determine the proposed owners' eligibility to obtain an HDB loan and financing of the monthly instalment. Before taking over the flat ownership, the current and proposed owners have to: * Pay fees, and * Settle their outstanding liabilities such as: o outstanding resale levy or premium, o upgrading cost o outstanding amounts owing to HDB Best, call HDB
