There are many types of varnish dor different application. For WOOD, use thinner-based varnish (kind of a resin, dissolved in thinner solution). Your appication?

White Glue can be used as protective transparent layer( to prevent oxyidisation) for PAPER application.

Water-based has its limitation - cannot get in touch with water, even after hardening.

Can tell me which brand/where hobby shop you know sell "water-based" varnish?.

not for paper, ....

used before, in touch with water no issue.. paint on toy and small shelf... wash or wipe also no issue. :D

my current application need is for my book shelf which always grow mold .. :(

All hobby shop should sell water based clear spray or brush application .. but very ex .. normally japanese brand ... (Not tamiya .. tamiya is oil based)

Most of hobby paint is water based, paint on stryofoam also no issue ..will not "eat" styrofoam..

Daiso also sell water based varnish ... $2 but less than 100ml ...... therefore see where can get cheaper as I need to paint 2 book shelf and oil / thinner based very smelly ...... even Nippon started to sell bodelac in water based but too bad varnish / transparent not yet started ....

cheers

I see, wait long long for cheap varnish, some more anti-foam, plastic. Good luck. Try Jet hobby, 180ml, $8.00
