Regarding Fire Insurance For Condo

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Most fire insurance have 2 main portions: 1. Buildings, 2. Contents

I have a question whether we need insurance for Buildings for fire insurance.

As the insurance taken by the management corporation already cover the building and common property against fire damage, would Contents coverage be sufficient? Why do we still need the coverage for Buildings?

MCST fire insurance will replace communual infrastructure only.

Individual unit infrastructure such as electrical cabling from electrical meter onwards, water pipes from meter onwards is not covered by the MCST fire insurance.

Also.. if the marble flooring got damaged by the fire and subsequent water damage from the firemen, then this is all under the unit building fire insurance.
