snowpear 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 Hi, Just to check if I wish to hack off an existing wall and rebuild another 1(to enlarge the room), do I need to remove the laminate flooring? Can the new wall be built on top of the laminate flooring? Anyone can advise? Thanks!
yoongf 11 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 New Wall must be cemented/ nailed down to the structural floor. Laminate flooring is not even glued down, but just tongue/groove/glue to each other. Also, wall and floor have different expansion rates, so sure will have gaps later on.

In that case can I just replace the few pieces of laminate around the hacked portion and the new wall area? Reason being the existing laminate flooring are in good condition and it would be a waste to replace everything
