If you're comfortable with the amount and, more importantly, with the person who's going to manage the project for you, then go for it, but ask him for a bit of discount. If you're looking for the cheapest , then take your quote to a half dozen other id firms or contractors and i'm pretty sure that if they bother to give you a quote it'll probably be lower...... if they want the project. Whether they'll do a good job or not ....you'll find out soon enough, I guess. But......the Lowest quote doesn't always yield the best result, in fact, it often doesn't. jason85aries 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2011 i hate to add on...if its for condo is it still steep? ...sigh...the price to pay for 'branding'... What do you mean "the price to pay for branding" ? Are you referring to renovation for hdb and condo the prices is different even thought same items is to be reno? If that is the case please let me explain 1. Condo have shorter working hours 2. Condo are more strict on rules and regulation 3. Any damages to condo property contractors have to pay 4. Condo piping is all conseal thus labour cost for conseal piping is alot more expensive. Vary to all contractors 5. Warranty againist leakage (cannot imagine how much it will cost if the piping leaks) affected item like wall tiles, cabinet, accessories and to make the matter worse you do not know how your contractor run the piping. So to all owner who run conseal piping, please remind your contractor to do marking on the wall tiles or take a photo of the piping before the laying of the tiles.
