CutieCat 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 I am in the midst of searching ID. I requested a customed made king size bed frame for my MBR. These ID told me, king size, the bed will be 2 pcs ,they will need to go to my MBR to install during reno. Here the question, it means me and my HTB will sleep on separate bed right? The bed frame is separate, but of course the mattress will be one pc. I am worried about "同 床 一 梦". Anyone can advise?
edenstrauss 3 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Why should your King size bed come in 2 sections?? Do u think you should clarify with your ID as to what he meant by it coming in 2 pieces? And if it's going to be constructed as such, is it going to be strong enough to withstand the weight of 2 persons sleeping at the centralised region of the bed? I'm more concerned about the stability of the bed if the base of the frame comes in 2 parts. And from my perspective, "同 床 异 梦" has to do with superstitions in this case. It all depends very much on how "healthy" a marriage couples have had, not the bed they are sleeping in. There are many out there who slept on the same bed but are experiencing "同 床 异 梦". And on the other hand, there are those who might not be seeing each other everyday but have a very successful marriage. However, if it bothers you so much, then you've got to work with your ID on the construction of your bed frame. bepgof 20 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Safety/noise is more of a concern if 2 "separated" bedframes to support a king size mattress. Got FS issue meh? Edited January 23, 2011 by bepgof
muffin 2 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 Hmm I think it has no link with fs, must feel comfortable as u are sleeping on it for 8 hours a day
wolflet 1 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 FS says the base of the bed (the board supporting the mattress) has to be 1 piece. if its 2 separate pieces (in the case of many king sized beds) its akin to sleeping on 2 different beds and marriage might have problems. remedy i read in a book is to place a big piece of red cloth over the 2 planks before placing the mattress. can just get a red bedsheet and lay it over the boards. just what i read. if anyone knows anything otherwise, please advice. bk888 2 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Hmm I think it has no link with fs, must feel comfortable as u are sleeping on it for 8 hours a day If you toss and turn endlessly throughout the night , then it's actually a good idea to have two mattresses joined as a king size bed. This way you don't disturb your partner. The best mattress should be one with spinal support and extra layer of memory foam at the top. Oops. Got carried away..
