Hi,

Would like to seek opinion/feedback for kitchen cabinet:

1. Need or good to have top cabinet at Chimney Hood's position?

2. Need or good to have top cabinet at Fridge's position?

If possible, pls share photo of your completed kitchen cabinet.

my personal views only...

1. Need or good to have top cabinet at Chimney Hood's position?

- i'm not having.

2. Need or good to have top cabinet at Fridge's position?

- don't think it's gd to have stuff on top of the fridge; might affect fridge cooling? think the compressor generates a lot of heat behind, and may need space to dissipate the heat from the side and top?

- but my top will be boxed up, due to ugly waste pipes...

Both are not needed and neither are they good to have. Its just waste of $$$. It's too high and quite useless to put kitchen stuff. No need loh...

Why buy Chimney hood?

I had chimney hood in my old kitchen & I didn't box it up, to 'show off'.

Fridge: I didn't box it, as explained by csingeu. Unless your fridge is jutting out somewhere in the middle of cabinet & you want it flushed with rest of cabinet. Otherwise, if it is placed in a corner, like mine, it is wasting $$ only.

Both of them No need & no good!

i wanted to install to improve ventilation of my bathroom areas... coz only got 1 small window...

BUT wife thinks it's a waste of money and that it's not going to be effective...

and also because, we are getting shower screen, so only the shower area going to be wet... she doesn't see a pt in installing the fan...

i would have gotten it, if wife's not against it.

you can ask reglxt abt it. she got installed b4. :)

Does the 6" exhaust fan really effective? I never consider it as I prefer to install lourve type of window and you can adjust the panel & open up for better ventilation.

As what I know from my friend, it's only effective if you close the toilet door when you on the exhaust fans. Or else it will not extract anything if the area are too big, for eg when you open the toilet doors. For me, I rather open the windows, like mae29.

Noted.

Was advised by the ID that 6" is adequate for HDB Toilet (size). Next higher size is 8".

Yes, the exhaust shld be on when the door is closed (or toilet is occupied).

There are standard two panels of window (louver). Thinking to change one panel to exhaust fan, and the other remains as either louver or top hung.
