May_dream1 14 Report post Posted March 20, 2011 I was at Tradehub 21 today too!!! But we (me and my wife) went to SBH first, then Hafary and Hiong Kup (or Kup Hiong??)... decided to give White Horse a miss, as we have been there twice b4... and my contractor will be bringing me there again next weekend... my contractor said, white horse tiles are cheaper... but i think maybe he gets more commission (discounts) from them... somehow i find their selection very limited... SBH has a large selection, but their prices also like "better"... i got mine at SBH.... i find they have more choices.... Hafary also not as wide choices as SBH. st96 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2011 Visited SBH showroom too. Agreed here is bigger & having more choices, reason: this is their main showroom & warehouse. Whitehorse @ Tradehub21 is only their "small" showroom. Their main showroom is at Sungei Kadut Way, another one at Changi Road. I did not visit these two places. Whitehorse has their own factories, and not too sure about SBH. Did not compare the price betw SBH & Whitehorse. Selection was guided by the ID, in consideration of theme, colour scheme, size of tile and unit price per sq ft. I must say the ID is flexible about the unit rate, eg stated $3.00psf in the agreement but he allowed selection up to $3.50psf w/o the need to top up $$$. BTW Can someone share what is the difference betw Porcelain Tiles and Polished Homogeneous Tiles, in term of durability & maintenance?

csingeu 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 Ahhhh....we have the same type of windows. I like white powder coated alum frame windows with green tinted glass!! It is awesome and makes the room brighter, as the light green tinted is really very light.... we were also pondering over what colour for the glass for the white powder coated aluminium windows... was considering: 1. green tinted 2. light gray tinted 3. "privacy" tinted.. don't really know what this is... but according to Alex, it's supposed to reduce visibility to the rooms... it has a slight reflective (mirror-like) effect when viewing at 1m away from outside (the effect is better, if the corridor is brighter than your rooms, esp at night; when you switch on "mood lighting"), but the downside is that it also makes the room a little darker... decided to go with the safe choice of green-tinted glass... but for the wooden multiple-fold doors for the balcony; will be getting clear glass; my wife prefers it that way... Alex is still trying to "highlight" the issue of rain and water seeping underneath the multiple-fold wooden doors, and the potential maintenance and problems... but my wife is fixated on having the wooden doors... she simply loves the look of it... and she has seen my 2nd level neighbour done it, without a roof over their balcony too... BUT i wonder if theirs is just "wood" coloured aluminium frames... or maybe it's real wood... but maybe they also having water seepage problems during rainy (stormy) days... mae29 2 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) can I come visit too? I also dun know how to choose. Let me know your selections. So I can just "copy". No need to think too hard. I bought my sink mixer accessories from them. Good recommendation is the tap mixer with water saving feature...won't splash when turns on. The brand of my sink mixer is Ixiss, and the one installed at my MBR toilet is Pozzi brand, and I like the latter one because it has the 'rainshower' effect & flow is not those gushing type, can save water. The shower model Rubine, in my MBR toilet also has water saving feature. But don't buy Nobel brand tap mixer, in common bathroom, because water flow is like Tsunami! For Hafary, need to go to the biggest showroom (Balestier i think). White Horse i'm not sure cos never visited. maybe sis Mae29 can comment on this I bought my sink mixer accessories from them. Unlike most bigger showroom where you get to see all the 'chap pa lang' tiles including those outdated ones!! You are there to choose only a particular floor tiles... You will be like entering into a jungle just to find the right tree! For me, it was the ID who is having the headache of choosing the tiles for me!! He has been to many showroom in his field of work, so I guess he just zoom in to one place where he can get what he has in mind for home owners. Although I was making my selection while ID was busy browsing elsewhere, he will tell you from his experience whether your selection of tiles is good or bad. I like those tiles with 'waterfall' resort feel, but he said not easy to maintain, grow algae & hard to scrub off, toilet tiles must be smooth type. Then when I choose those floor tiles with wood feel, he said don't try to mix them; wood must be natural wood, very ugly if you get those ceremic floor tiles with wood grain feature! In the end, accept his reasoning & let him do the selection for me. For the tap mixers, I believe it is depending on the water pressure of your unit. I stay on lower floor, so the water flow is really like Tsunami. I have taken few shots & will upload in my post later.
